...as per this screenshot. It's using the plot texture.

I smoothed and smoothed and deleted the green and re-drew it. I used lots of different textures for the green in the library just to see what would "take" but every time the green uses the plot texture.

Any ideas please.

Check if the cut out tool (in the CF menu) was selected for that spline.

Thanks but not that issue. Things got completely out of hand when :-

1. I made the green a tee and it showed up OK.

2. When i changed say the fairway texture the semi-rough texture disappeared in the library.

Shot in the dark but let's say, you bring up the layers lib for your rough-semi. You have 3 slots filled, shader, texture, bump map.

So if you changed the Texture/slot2 to something other than default, all is good until you exit out of Unity and come back, then that texture is Gone.

Don't know if this is what you meant?

Not quite Larry.

I changed the fairway texture and as soon as I re-calculated that spline only, the spline for semi-rough i.e. the one that was surrounding the fairway went white. When i looked in the library all texture slots were empty.

Right, has happened to me many times, you just have to go back and put the same ones you were using, back into those slots.

I have to do that on mine, I'm not using the default, so I wrote down the exact ones and when I reopen unity, usually for roughsemi, the texture and the bump map will be gone, so I reenter those, otherwise, if I work on a green and recalcuatle with out them, it turns white.

I have tried to save my custom ones but then I have bigger probs, so thats how I do it.

it seems as if you don't use the Default textures, it freaks out every time. I wish you could just drop in a new texture, into slot 2 and it would stay there forever.

I'm using a Custom Rough Texture, I just slipped it into slot 2 but when I close Unity out and return, that texture is gone, If I don't put it back in and I do some work on the course, then recalculate the outer spline, BOOM it turns white, till I put it back in.

I tried to save it but I get other issues then. So I just have to remember that the first thing I do, is reload that Custom texture, then all is good.

Hopefully I'm not way off and I understand you correctly.

Do you save your library after adding a new texture, i have a custom texture in st georges, i just popped it in and saved the library as stgeorge, its there when i return.

Yes, they are all custom textures. I find that saving the library gives uncertain results (sometimes works and sometimes doesn't) and sometimes I can go for days and not have to save and everything stays intact.

I have also had issues with the save feature being hit or miss.

When I add a texture, I place it in the Custom folder in the Perfect Parallel Libraries folder in the Unity project panel. If I add a texture from anywhere else in the Project tab, it will not be there on restart.

I was thinking about creating a custom layer as I need a heavy rough that looks like dry grass. Think I'll wait on that after reading this.

BTW...is there any way to tweak the physics of the layer (beyond just choosing one of the stock ones)? Suspect the answer is "no" (and I recognize that such a feature would have to be used with care), but it would be great to duplicate grasses (high fescue, bermuda, etc.).
