just a test to see if  ive got the right feel for this course.its a jack nicklaus signature course,a private club here in horseshoe bay tx.i was invited to play yesterday and decided to take my camera to see if i could get some good photos for reference.took over 100 photos needless to say i didnt play that good, but i did break 90.the greens were killer, never putted on greens that fast or smooth.had a great day though.now im gona see if i can do it justice in JNPG.

Any reason you don't embed the images in your posts? Saves having to navigate away to Imgur. Course looks very nice, by the way.

All you have to do is right click on one the pictures in imgur and left click the "copy image location" option.  The option may be worded slightly different in your browser (I'm using Firefox).

Then you would click on image icon here (below the smiley face icon in the post tools), paste the image link into the field (right click and select paste) and then click ok.  The image will auto resize in order for it to fit within the body of the post.  People will be able to click the image to get the full resolution version.

Looking good.. I skimmed past the pictures and was thinking the bottom one looked better than the top lol.

Looks like a very nice recreation, perhaps a move to tan bunkers.. sand looks a bit "augusta", and a darkening of ya fairway texture and youd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Great work

Great start ... a few tweaks to the textures and you should be there. I assume this is using the lidar heightmap. I hope I was wrong about the bunkers not being sculpted in the heightmap.

larry, you were pretty much correct the bunkers are there,  but with very little elevation. i will have to sculpt the bunkers, but not a biggie ive got them all in my photos.the only downside is this course will take 3 times as long to build, the upside is  ,nobody even cares anymore, there are so many good courses now.and ive still got the 2 bedminster courses to do before i start on this one. ive done 16 holes on the old course and havent even started the new one  yet.thanks again for the lidar. :)

This is far from the truth quadet63.  You're one of my favorite designers for JNPG.  I really appreciate all the time you take in making your courses as detailed and realistic as possible.  There aren't too many other designers out there that continue to make  multiple course revisions months after the initial public release just to try and perfect it.  Keep up the great work.

Just make sure you move all of the tees, pins and shot points for the old course to the proper holders in the hierarchy before starting the new course. Again, if you need any help, let me know.

thanks for the kind words yesrushdt,i have been told that i should do it right the first time, and i shoudent have go back and have to change things, but everytime i build a new course i learn something new ,it makes me want to improve on the old ones and make them as good as possable .i have actually gone back and put in easyroads in all of the courses,at some point i will release these again.kinda waiting for JNPG 2 to do this.cheers.

larry k,i havent placed any tees, pins or shot points yet,i thought i would do both courses completely, then go back  and set up the old course put it in the proper holders, then go set up the new course.the hardest thing about doing it this way is i havent played a single hole and ive done 16 holes.it will be pretty cool to play it for the first time,to see how it looks in game.it does make the design process faster dont have to stop and compile 100 times.im sure when i get to the point of setting the tees, pins and shot points i will have questions.thanks!

i have been told that i should do it right the first time, and i shoudent have go back and have to change things.....

The only reason this situation of designers constantly updating their courses is tolerated at present is because the JNPG community is so localised and so tiny and made up predominantly of regular hardcore players. If JNPG had the user base of a AAA title it would be completely chaotic to have designers regularly updating courses without some form of auto-update system in place to take care of everything.

Don't sweat it, there is nobody worse than me for pushing unfinished courses, Think i read somewhere about K11 play testing his courses over and over to weed out issues before release, i'd be lucky if i play mine more than twice before release and not many more times after release, i get sick to death of my own courses and hate playing them to the point of overkill, i'd rather put a beta out for people to spot the issues.
