How do you control or adjust the spin rate. Have tried using positions on the ball..?

there is no need to adjust position, the higher the loft of the club the more spin you generate, you will attain backspin on wedges, to a greater degree if you over power the shot, the ball pitching on a slope will also determine more or less spin also, and the longer the iron the less spin you will generate.

you can go to the practice range and see what happens to the spin rate hit 3 shots at the same power and change loft for each think you may be surprised what happens.. also take note of where ball hits on the greens because the slope of hill will had or decrease the spin ast it works now.

2500 hours and im still flying by the seat of my pants on the spin as
a matter of fact i can't even tell you the last time i tried to factor it in.
if ya work on the putting a bunch it don't factor in just got to get good at reading greens.lol

Each club has a stock spin rate. This rate is set using PGA Tour Averages for that club. Moving the ball around in your stance has no effect on spin rate but it does have an impact on trajectory which also has an impact on impact angle and therefore bounce angle when landing. the more vertical the ball impacts the ground the less forward momentum the ball has and the more likely that the friction caused by the spin rate on the ground will cause the ball to spin back once it has entered the roll state. Each time the ball bounces it will lose spin.

I have practised with the 64 wdg and found on a normal green 12 stimp that the ball will spin back 4yds with the shot shaper at the top and in the middle but put the shot shaper to the bottom i got 5 yds,??

because its coming in flatter and losing less spin than a higher shot. The longer the ball is in the air the more spin it loses...makes sense.

Yes this is pretty much it. Also if the ball comes in from a higher angle, the ground compresses more (deeper pitch mark) and some spin is lost so although what AJ says is correct, there is more going on than simply hitting it higher for more spin on landing.

overswing also comes into play try it out for yourself in practice mode
