I have some stock ones I got somewhere but they are too dark and you have to reset height on every one.

Anyone know where I can get some that would fit my parkland style course?

Do you have to learn to build structures just to get these? Can they be purchased anywhere?

Thanks.

Visit the online shopping mall that is JNPG and go browsing for them on other JNPG courses. Find the ones you feel you want. PM the designer for them.

(The same probably applies to any texture, object, structure or plant you see - depending on the designer. Like it? Ask for it. Be prepared to trade, though - if you ask others for their stuff, then you should offer them yours. Don't be a moocher.)

You will have to reset height for most of your benches manually, though - their elevation across the course surely must differ and there is no way to order Unity to align them to the terrain. It helps to put benches, ball washers and buckets into a single game object to make sure they are all on the same elevation and that you can manipulate them as a group and set their heights in one go.

Yup, it's a bloody chore. I don't like it either, but watchagonnado?

Thank ya. I meant I have to rescale the size of each one but I will keep looking to see if there is a way to do it once then of course, I will need to plant them individually.

The ones I have are freaking huge, I think the ball washer is 10ft tall. I guess I just need to look harder for a way to resize them and not have to do that for every hole. :)

Will ask around.

You only need to resize the prefab once, and all other instances will be of the same size.

1. Plant the prefab in your scene, preferably near a human height object for scale comparison.

2. Open the prefab in the inspector - click on the object inside your ASSET folder, NOT its copy in your hierarchy.

3. Find the handy "Resize" setting right at the top. Alter it until you are happy with the size.

4. Confirm before exiting the Inspector. Done.

If you have other instances of that prefab already planted in your terrain, they probably will shrink to a very small size, because you already resized them and altering their prefab adds a second level of miniaturisation to them. So you best remove them altogether before doing this.

Worked perfect Chris. Now I can at least plant these and not have to ask around, I hate asking for such things.

And there we go! :)

I know, I know, some will think, hmmm so what Axe, a bench and a ball washer. You would be right, accept up till 20 mins. ago, I didn't think I could use these. So yes, it is a big deal to me. Of course, most don't know what designers go thru, even with the little things...

Thanks Axe for bringing this up! I'm just finishing routing my first design and was about to ask the same question. And thanks to K11 for the useful suggestions. I'm not only looking for "golf furniture", but also any bushes, trees, plants, and textures useful for my course, which is set in Central California scrub oak pasture land. I'll start looking around. Thanks again.
