Hey Larry that's alot of rocks.  I've been using "J Rocks Pack" from trhe Unity store.  You get like 20 stones for 5 or $10 can't remember.  There's also "photorealistic stones"  but there's only 3 or 4 decent ones for the same price.  Beware that rocks have heavy tri counts, so only use the LOD2.  They look just as good, anyway.

Cheers mate.

you can get some nice seamless textures that look pretty good.there are alot of websites that are free.you need to get seamless ones.

I just use the current rocks we have, change the main texture and keep the normal as is

that way you can experiment with the seamless textures to get the look you want.

Then drag a rock in where you want , also drag in fa few different rocks for variety and  (  ctrl +d to copy  ) and bingo another rock is copied very fast

then laz make a folder, name it  say what hole it is and drag them all into the folder so you know where they are  you can do this very quickly and easily  , thats how i do it anyway.

Seamless rock texture to concrete spline is good. Then make some corners/peaks to terrain and paint the terrain under the spline with the same or a different rock pattern. Now it doesn't matter if terrain becomes visible under the mesh, it's even better that way. You can also fade rock patterns if you want to by painting the edges of the rock/concrete spline. Then add some real 3D rocks to the rock terrain/mesh and make it look more 3D. This way you'll get pretty good looking stone "wall" and there sholdn't be too heavy tri count.

Something like this:

Gentleman, I thank you very much for your replies and the links. I didn't know sketchup had a texture site. cool

However I'm not going to paint rocks on I hate the way that looks. I want objects, like these.

In fact I may use these. Maybe I need to ask the structure guys, they are amazing, maybe one of them would make me some stone walls?

Thanks, looked there. Nothing like the ones I want. I want some prefab stone walls. I will ask the structure guys.

Thanks everyone for the replies.

Note: I saw a course and I'm thinking it was Valhalla? That had something similar. I'll look.

Kind of crude and just thrown together but much better than painted on.

With the right rock walls and some practice I think I can make it work. ;) No, I know I CAN make it work!! :)
