Hi frank, the system we use is based around the real world ball flight physics - ok so you say - 'what does that mean to me!'
There are a few things you need to know:
The harder you hit a normal shot (if you hit it purely) the more spin you will generate. So hitting full shots into greens at past 100% will maximise your spin.
Adding more loft will not necessarily add more spin.
Where the ball lands has an effect on how the ball spin is translated into movement on the ground. If you ball lands on a downslope and the ball shoots forward a lot of the spin will come off the ball, conversely hitting into an upslope will give the ball the best chance of grabbing and backing up. Splash shots carry much much more spin than chips from greenside bunkers.
Course firmness makes a difference. When you set up a game you can choose how firm the course is playing, try dialing it back to 1 for softer greens.
