Looks like a great added feature. It will be nice when PP eventually add script support too, as I used to really enjoy using Blade and TKS's sound scripts when playing Links.

Brilliant! Always loved the soundscript editor in Links and this certainly provides a little more "life" to PG. Nice job to whoever designed or put this together.

Thanks guys.
I will be looking to add Commentary for the Alternate 9 and PairUp 9 as soon as possible as well.

I tried to follow your instructions Mike but when I check to use the sound script I don't get a window opening as shown in your video. I tried with Edge and Chrome, neither worked?

Played a round with this commentary and bought back many happy memories of the old Links soundscripts. Many thanks for making my day.
Q) Is it possible to utilise all of the soundscripts that were produced for Links? Even the wackier ones..I'm thinking of Hackmaster's 2003 soundscript (but of course there were others apart from Steve's (Blade) script(s) such as NaturalWallofSound, and tks fall 2011) Would be brilliant to be able to have a default choice when you fire up a round and change to an alternate if you wanted to.
Q) How on earth do you get that view? That FOV is way closer than the present new default close-up setting that has caused bother for some (me inc)

Hi Mailman,
Very glad to hear that it brought back a wave of nostalgia, and that it fits the bill as some entertainment. That is exactly as we hoped.
I use Low Player Camera at all times including on the green, and my Camera is Player with a Snap Camera of Forward.
We could eventually work on other soundscripts, and make it a selectable item, and we may also possibly launch a library of sounds which could be triggered in the same way Wavs were, although outside of the game itself.
Presently though, our focus has to be on making this work for team play, as the handling of player progress is significantly different, and then to add even more into the present soundscape to cover even more play events and instances, such as different putt lengths, distances into green, and such like, and providing as many random sounds in the right places to make it as unrepetitive as possible.

Resolved, after checking for a Pop-Up Blocker, although this did not appear to be the problem.
On the forum's main page you will see an icon with a speaker in. If you have elected to use PGLS Commentary, then you can use this to bring up the required sound engine window which then does not need to be 'in focus' to play sounds. After you have finish, you may close the sound engine window, and open it again the same way each time you wish to.

A,
Looks like the same view I'm getting when I play the game. I have my playing camera set to Player and Low Cam is on.

Hi,
Just played a couple of rounds with the new sounds and just like Mailman (oops) it reminds me of the old links soundscripts.
Excellent work Mike and your team.
Maybe one day we get to use the wav files during online play.
Keep up the good work.

As long as it can be turned off when JNPG introduces it, I will be happy. I don't want fluff in my golfing. There is no one commenting when I play irl and therefore I do not want it here.
