I just went here to post what you said Dave, never seen so many players in the lobby ever. Not many compared to PU Battleground 1 million players online though  ;)

As a new player this scares me. How can a game survive with a player base that wouldn't make an online game from 1990 jealous? I am new so I could be missing something that is obvious to longer tenured players.

They can make a game but they haven't learned how to make a game compelling.

Excuse me folks!  Hate to rain on the parade, but the very cold weather across much of the country could explain the uptick.  Just sayin!

The fact is that 150 for a PC golf game is about right but when JNPG2 comes out and you add the console world there will probably be the same type of numbers that you saw for TW series and that will be quite a bit.  I own TGC and TGC2 on both PC and Xbox One and there are a ton of different events up on TGC2 and tons of people playing the game on console.  The PC crowd is basically like most of us which is much older and likes the PC venue much better but facts be the console is where you will see the big crowds in the future.

Wasn't PG supposed to be on console?

Think that ship has sailed now, so all hopes will be pinned on PG2 (or whatever it will be called).

why do you think this game will be populair on console..its is different kind of gamer there, consolegamers dont care for

simulations, they play mostly arcadegames.

so i predict not a big success for this game on console.

seen as many as 186 in the lobby yesterday a few different times

where are all these new folks coming from all of a sudden.

could there be something going on in the background we here in the forums

are unaware of and not seeing?

is cool though to see the count going up like it has been.

We're getting 70 odd people playing in the main event now on OGT's simulator tour - plus there are another 6 or 7 secondary events during the week many play in. Not sure of how many active player in sim, but 240 members, probaby half playing regularly.

may as well post the bad with the good

i have noticed over the last couple of weeks the headcount has really dropped.

when i made this OP i watched as it got as high as 190.

now it is hard to even see 100 people on at the same time.

what changed. thinking this drop started with them telling us TM bought the game

what has changed so much for the head count to have dropped like it has?

My best guess is the weather is warming up and people are playing more golf in real life?  I mostly dropped off the JNPG play charts when The Golf Club 2 came out, but certainly not because of TGC 2's dreadful multiplayer.  I've started playing just a little more JNPG here in the last couple of weeks since I've gotten a new 55", 4K Ultra HD HDTV to experiment on.  JNPG does look a bit better in 2160p, and the dynamic light range of my new set don't hurt the looks either.  OTOH, there's still not quite enough there to bring me back to playing JNPG regularly, or in multiplayer again, but it definitely still has its appeal.

Put a customizable mo-capped golfer, 3-D Turf Effects rough, and DirectX 12 graphics in PG 2, and I'll be back in, lock, stock, and barrel!  ;)

as far as a count of folks playing an arcade game and playing PG --must remermber PG is geared toward those who play real golf--arcade games appeal to greater numbers of folks who just love  games in general---PG will be fine by just fine-tunning now and then :) and keeping the quality up-- the numbers will grow --all will be happy !!

I used to play JNPG with my brother every day, but he has been in a medically induced coma for the last 3 weeks and I haven't played since then.
