What if, in the areas that come into play you draw a spline of deep rough around that grassy area? That would definitely increase your percentage. Instead of just playing as rough without a spline?

This would certainly help matters and stop folks just pulling out the woods or hybrids and cutting loose. The other issue with the 2D grasses is the total lack of collision with the ball as it passes through.

I might try this Daz, if i change the texture of the deep rough so it hides in the grass i could then place it in driving areas aside the fairway and around the greens, i'll lay a few then test it.

DoGgz you could also surround each hole with a Deep Rough spline and set it to cutout so it doesn't show. It will still retain the deep rough property while showing the terrain textures and grasses normally.

The golfer will appear to float a little on this cutout mesh, but within really thick grass planting no one would notice.

Once Muirfield, Oakmont and Pine Valley are released does that mean all of the classic courses have been completed?
