Over the last few months I have seen many suggestions for what people would like to see in PG2. New avatars, carreer mode, 3d grass etc. But what less than obvious features would you like to see - perhaps things that could be easily overlooked and not the really obvious ones a couple of which I mentioned above?

Mike one thing I miss is the atmosphere and when I say that I mean the option to have fans while playing your round.  Yes I know most don't care but a lot do and its kind of neat to have them and back in Links I always thought that the crowds added to the experience of the game.  Some designers have really just started to touch the surface of what they can do by adding planes and boats and love those features at Oceanview as its one of my favorites and on a coupe holes seeing the deer run across the fairway is really cool.  So for me it would be really nice to see more of this and lots of fans walking around during your round.

It likely falls under "new avatars" but I'd really like to see that slight lag/hitch at the top of the swing removed so that the controller and animation are more in lock step.

I'd also love for you guys to look at the patch that one of the users has created that allows for toggling of reflective surfaces on any course.

I would love to see more multiplayer stuff:

1) Best Ball so we can replicate Ryder Cup properly.

2) WOLF format -( https://golfcoursegu...r how it works)

3) Snake for 3 putts  - Would add some fun and pressure to multiplayer matches https://www.thoughtc...lf-game-1564073

4) Chapman's  / Pinehurst format (also fix greensome which is the same as Modified Pinehurst I think) - https://www.thoughtc...e.  FUN format.

5) Shamble format - Scramble drive then each play your own ball.

Love the multiplayer in PG1, hope you guys build it out more.

EDIT: some more requests

For scramble or any MOP where you need to pick a ball, I would like to be able to cycle through the different balls to see the lie approach angle. etc.

For scramble and other multiplayer stuff, I would like to be able to set the order instead of having to be in the order they join the game.

-

A snap camera for multiplayer to speed thing up,  while waiting for another player to hit, let me see my ball so I can use BLI scope out where I want to hit etc,  then when the other guy hits, switch the animation to the other player so I can watch his shot.  This should speed up multiplayer so guys can be ready to hit when its their turn vs waiting for them to BLI the green or decide what club to hit.

-

For multiplayer,  integration of webcams and chat so you can have a fully immersed option and it can switch to the camera for the active player.  Right now we can add cameras with OBS and stream but watching a stream you only see the active players.  Some have hacked up skype to allow you to see all 4 webcams in a 4 man match but it would be cool where it could know which camera to set as active if that makes sense.

-

For CF, a way to better penalize rough for links style courses.  See like the rough is too easy on links style courses and usually its one of the defenses of the course.  Maybe a extra deep rough option.

Custom tees and pins like Links 2003. And more speed/hardness choices would be nice.

For starters:-

1:1 real time swing

Improved ball collision detection with 3D objects when rolling

Animation fully interacting with the environment, so swing could be restricted by trees, bushes etc.

Realistic animation stances for awkward lies. Player has to aim away from intended target if realistic stance cannot be taken when trying to aim at the intended target line.

Improved time acceleration so players can better recreate a real life round compressed in to say 30 minutes of virtual play.

1st person view.
Saveable custom cameras.
Improved control over spin on pitch shots, so that running shots aren't the only outcome. This could be implemented in much the same way as bunker shots are now with timing of the shot and skill producing different outcomes.

I'd like to see the fairway/ball interaction revisited.  It's probably because I've been off playing TGC2 for a while now but when coming back to JNPG (I recently played about 4-5 rounds) it seems like the ball is a little too "sticky" when rolling on the fairway.

Also the wind.  I've been back and forth on this one quite a bit.  It seems like the lower wind speeds don't do enough and the higher wind speeds do way too much.  The in-between wind speeds feel pretty darn good to me.

As a serial competition organiser and with a preference for BARE / NAKED golf I would like the ability to toggle on and off parts of the HUD as well as grids and BLI.

The ability to disappear the avatar while reading putts would be good (and immersive).

Season creation options of some sort, with the ability to set things like the course for each week, number of rounds, conditions, purse amount, size of field, etc. The field could be a set group of names, or better yet, a editable list of player names (similar to what was done with Jack Nicklaus 6). I'd rather have this than a career mode.

Just to reiterate what Slice posted in the "PG like" thread - the ability to set the F5 cam to a preferred position.

  • The old FOV back and/or some options to customize this aspect of the game.  (sorry - had to say it)
  • Stats
  • Ability to save a recorded round at the end of the round
  • Custom FreeCam presets that you could rotate through with a controller button
  • Lots of gear/clothes/clubs/content - Surprisingly I loved mixing/matching/decking out my player in TW14
  • More reflective water courses and/or that great tamuchan patch done in house
  • Additional anti aliasing granularity and options to better exploit high end hardware (if one has it)

Oh....

And this...

1. Career mode...desperate for a good in depth career mode that can be edited.

2. Simultaneous play for multiplayer, i'm quite a fast player and even though i would still have to wait for people to complete a given hole it would be great to hit a drive then go straight to the ball and play on.  Overall, Mp games would be quicker and much more enjoyable.

3.Mo cap with more clothing options, but no post shot emotions please ( fist pumps etc, i hate that )

4. The camera snapping to reverse view if you set a custom camera view to make your swing...currently the cam will not snap you just watch the ball sail off into the distance before continue screen comes up.

5.  No Need to Press A on controller to continue.

6. A close up follow cam for putts.

a multi player practice mode with all the info you get on the range..It would be nice to be able to practice with some one. guys just don't understand why ball does what it does sometimes.  It would also be a great teaching tool for new comers.

The biggest wish would be the customization of equipment to allow my tempo target to be slightly lowered or increased any where in between .22 and .28 to where I can comfortably swing consistently.

Maybe the ability to select Club Distance percentage

for all clubs in the bag. It would be a real hoot to play

some of the older courses with 1920-1960 gear.

In fact maybe be able to select a bag from a certain period.

1. Persistent stat tracking per course that can be reset when the game physics change or if you change level.

2. Equipment options that offer subtle variations in ball flight/distance/accuracy that are reasonably balanced so its not about gaining an advantage but developing your own style.

3. Tour Pro difficulty to be truly hard core like Ted suggested. No BLI for those who choose to play at that level. No aids whatsoever at the highest level.

would be a good idea here, for now when a friend wants to see how i may play a shot

we do the join game broadcast thing with voice chat and can show it that in practice repetidly but way big PITA.

good idea there though.

im a 3 c  player and i would just love to be able to see how other clickers play their meter.

We need to be able to preview partner ball position in scrambles prior to shot selection.  Suggest that when the ball selection post shot is displayed, it is from the view of one ball, with a toggle to switch to the other.  Being able to F5 look around, as well as see the overhead cam, would be great also.  Basically, we need more information on which ball to select.

Would also love to be able to re-position the overhead view.  Between streaming window overlays, or offset, there are many situations when you just want to move the thing instead of turning it off.
