Yes, Xooze I think you are right, it will be showcased at the PGA Show in January. Coincidentally there is a You Tube video of a club pro playing a new Trackman course called Primland on Trackman 4 dated a week ago and the graphics are the current JNPG ones so again I am wondering how Patrick Hansson was able to try TPS7/VG2?
What happens first? (Poll)

Why would they capture a golfers swing for a simulator??
Unless they going to have a hacker Harry on screen..

I can’t really tell what they were doing.
Was that just taking those photos for the teaser images they’ve been sharing?

I'm wondering if the one selection that nobody chose might in fact be sooner than we think..

Well, if they were doing it for mo-caps for the avatars in the PC version, and those teaser image golfers represent the quality of the mo-caps in the game, Hacker Harry will become a faded, distant memory from the Stone Age as we play PG2!

Another new teaser image...

I ask again... what's the point of having the golfer dominate the image, followed closely by the the "2" in size and scope!? Trackman players aren't going to see a golfer when they play the game. I'm sure they'd rather see an unfettered image of what the course is going to look like as they're standing behind their ball

It is odd.
Based upon the different golfer images they’ve shown it looks like they’re trying to appeal to all types of real world golfers in terms of gender and ethnicity.
I do not believe it has anything to do with motion capture golfers since that would be useless in a simulator environment.
I think they are composing these images like this because in order to tease “you can’t show too much” and if all there is to show is a new interface and new course graphics, there’s really no other way to hide it but still kind of show it and still sort of “tease” it

Yeah - I agree.
The photo shoot I think was just for the marketing images/teasers.
It makes sense, since motion captured golfers/avatars have basically no use for a hardware golf simulator company and the requisite software

Have you seen GEARS? Or any CG motion capture for movies? Much better ways to digitally capture motion and transfer to 3D avatar.
https://www.gearssports.com
On YouTube, you can see people getting lessons with the GEARS system. Really pretty impressive for the over analytical types.
Wouldn't it be cool to capture your swing at a GEARS location and be able to upload into the game?
Not happening...

Hope we'll get some more teaser pics of VG2 from Trackman today, perhaps some showing more of the surrounding terrain. It'll just make me lust for something that I can't afford even more. I could almost see buying a Trackman simulator *IF* I wouldn't have to build a new room on my house to accommodate it... that puts it totally out of the question!

It's sort of humorous to me how much "teasing" they are doing..
They aren't releasing the latest "UFC game" or "all new Madden" here..
It cracks me up a little that they're dragging their Sim users through this extended tease that continues over and over again to reveal essentially "nothing" and then you have coy little staff members posting things like "soon"..
Frankly it comes across as annoying - not exciting.
But hey - it ain't for me anyway, so my opinion on it isn't worth bupkis

Yeah, its release will actually be nothing more than a spectator event for me. Once we do get to see a true, in-game screenshot or two, we *might* get a hint of what the environment for PG2 could look like, were it ever to come into fruition.

By all means. Anyone want to start it?
Or I will but does anyone have any suggestions for the poll items…
Maybe things that weren’t included in this one but should have been?
PG2 with a swing device such as Tittlex for E6 golf or Phigolf for WGT. This would be my vote.
