What a numpty. Saved new scene as 3D....instead of 3d.
Problem solved.
I have used the renaming trick with much success

Theres nothing worse than spending many hours on a course design and then either the dreaded 40 percent or 50 percent load crash.

You know it's kind of funny when you mentioned your 50% load of your course. It reminded me of the Royal Melbourne couse that was released last fall and it would download to 50% for a lot of people and after a certai time laps it would return to the home screen. A handfull of people could download and play it. Obviously the issue you were having was of a different nature. I first thought it was the Win 7 platform I was running at the time of the RM release but not so. I am running PG on Win 10 again with a 1060 dual fan, 6gb card and 3.4 intel processor with 32 gigs of ram. Great frame rate on all courses but RM still only loads 50%. I have no idea why.
