flashing back to my youth today i got to thinking about some of the concerts i was lucky enough
to see but i will say i saw Ted more then anyone other then Blue Oyster Cult. when i was in my teans he used to do free concerts a few times a year on the socker field at Ohio State. great shows of the early years with the Amboy Dukes. it was the days of drugs and rock and roll. one of the times in what i consider to be the best of america years the 70s tru the 80s.
how he could make that Gibson Byrdland talk

Ted Nugent played so many concerts in Detroit back then that he was called the "Motor City Madman".
Bob Seger, another old rocker from Detroit, got his start playing at high school dances. His band was called the Bob Seger System and his breakout hit at that time was "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man". He went on to record numerous hit's solo and with The Silver Bullet Band.
I agree, the 70's and 80's was when rock music was at its best.

yep the time period was great. i lived up in Toledo for a few years during these times and did get to see Ted on his home turf along with a bunch of other bands i ventured into Detroit to see. for a time in Toledo i worked as a second job when needed at the Toledo Sports Arena to set up and tear down for the concerts there. it was a fun time in my life. got to meet a few of the big names at the time. till one night at a Molly Hatchett show i got into a cooler and put a keg of beer on a 2 wheel cart and rolled it down to the river and proceeded to get most of the crew drunk before the show was over. one of the few jobs in my life i got fired from.lol and remember the cheep prices you could see these groups. example on mothers day 78 i do believe it was ACDC, Judas Priest,Blue Oyster Cult, Blackfoot. that was back in the Gen Adminson days and the price of the tickets was 4.95 as a special. look at what it cost today total rip nodays

Ha, my kids joined my wife and I to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers at DTE Theatre (formerly Pine Knob) a year ago.
As for concert ticket prices back in the 70's & 80's here's a picture of my Led Zeppelin ticket:
