I'd rather not follow the WGT method of having to pay for shirts and better clubs.
I'm a strong proponent of customizable wardrobe and equipment, but only on a strictly superficial basis. I don't think there should be any effect at all on the actual game play.
But it's fun for me to play Links with essentially the same clubs I have in my real bag and wearing the same shirts and shoes. All I spent was a few hours in Photoshop making them myself.
