The final round of the season is at Kablammo11's wonderful opus "Willow Heath".

After careful consideration of various posts, and in the interest of attracting more players, it will be an "Open Handicap". This means there are no restrictions on assists. Everyone can play at their desired level and we can treat the tournament just like any club handicap event. The course has been softened up.

Thanks Teddy

Will give this a go and try to get a few friends interested.   First time Ive seen an event catering for those that need ( want) to play with the max aids on.

Wow Ted you are really softening up now. Lol. May I make a suggestion as to that after this event for the time being you make a four round gentlemans game where you just get to submit four scores and no do overs. It could be weekly and coul be fun as I hate to see this tour quit as it is quite fun and helps make us play better. Just a suggestion.

74  +2.   min/min  A mixed bag including a triple on 10. Drove well early but faced with water off the tee on 10 the old hands started to twitch and never recovered my rhythm after that. Typical B grader.

Nice layout with plenty of diversity and interesting shots. The medium pins were placed very well I thought and a noticeable step up from easy pins which is great.

Personally I'd hold off on this one until the update this week as we have a WH putting fix in the works.

It's ok. I'll put it up anyway. Makes the leaderboard look better.

I'm liking Willow Heath now that I've started to play there regularly. Nice big greens and manicured fringes with some challenging elevation changes. Good diversity maintains interest throughout the round with some real birdie chances together with some tough long holes. Starting to work on my course management and even found a secret tactic at 17.

Thanks for that, I had to hit a few shots from the rough but fortunate to get good lies, and the 17th I went for a big drive because it's downhill and went slightly right in the trees, with no view out of the rough I hit the  same club I would from the fairway, gave it some extra and it just cleared the water, but it wouldn't use the follow cam as I was blocked off behind a tree with pink leaves, used the land cam and saw it then lol.

Strewth!  I've had Fluff out getting yardages the last few days and it paid off. Shot a 66 in B Grade. Everything fell into place. Not spectacular - just putting the ball in the right places. Also got my bag sorted out.

Unfortunately the stewards won't allow the score to stand because I wrote down a par on the last when I actually had a birdie. (See screenshot of no ball near hole). Fluff just huffed and said nothing more.

-1 MS, min aids,

-11 max aids

Blistering front nine and then went through a lull and picked it up again at the end.....what a round. Think this proves what a huge difference there is between min and max aids.

Reynhardt_p2 I know what you mean, I had a 13 under with max aids in one of these tournys, but I never play max now, even online, I play moderate against people who use max and am still competing with them.

Just an experiment to see if people wear it.

A Grade        -  off/off

B Grade        -  min/min

C Grade        -  mod/mod

Max Grade   -  max/max  (don't like saying D Grade)

Now I just sit back and wait for criticisms.

Ok then the -1 under score was done in B grade and the -11 under score was done in Max grade.

Exactly.  I don't know how it works elsewhere but the clubs I've been members of in Australia had A grade up to  about a 10 handicap, B grade was 11 to 18, and C grade was up to a handicap of 27. Recently they extended C grade up to 36. Something like that. I haven't been a member of anything for a long time. But we all strived to rise up to the next grade (apart from the 'burglers').  There was no stigma attached to it and we all happily competed with our handicap and we were content with the level at which we, and everyone else, played.

Of course, in your case Reynhardt_p2, the score from your best grade would be the one accepted i.e. -1. Sure, you could enter a score from M grade if that's how you want it. It's completely up to you. It's also completely up to everyone else how that score is perceived.
