I generally play Min Min, when I play offline. I tried it a few times online, but I see almost everyone plays Max Max. Is that the standard for online play? The reason I ask is, I played in an alt shot and I was the only one playing min min and of course we lost because I couldn't hit fairways and greens as good as they could.

I also practice at min/min but drop down to mod/mod for online when most if not all are remaining on max/max. I dare not drop too low in case it starts making me sloppy and take all of the mechanics for granted.

I'm in the process of planning a monthly tournament event over at http://pg-ms-country.club which will see players playing online over 4 x 9 holes (36 in total), where your playing level will determine the 'weighting' of points gained in an ongoing Tour Championship.

For that event, which will see prize pots dependent on overall leaderboard placing, the prize fund available increases by 50% for each step up in ability.

I consider the following to be the correct 'strata' of abilities:

Players using from zero to one assist - e.g. off/off, off/min or min/off will form the 'Masters' category.

Tour Pro (a total of 2 to 3 assist 'credits')

Club Pro (4 to 5)

and Amateur, playing with all assists on (6 in total).

I know you have signed up for the PG-MS Country Club and so, having got myself back in the groove a bit after an enforced layoff from everyday play, I'll keep an eye open for you to play a matchplay round at our preferred level.

Min/min practice and lately min/min in competition.
I see no point in dropping back as it's the test of competition play that is the enabler of continual improvement! 😉

I play mod mod against players who use max max but like playing min min in the offline tournys, I take longer on min min to take my shots so I find it works well for me like this.

Recently moved up to Min/Min and I'm not going back down.

Love the challenge. Ultimately I hope there will be enough folks online at different levels where we can find people on similar setups to play against.

I really appreciate all the options. My 78 year old uncle who I got into the game is perfect and challenging competition for me with him on Mod/Mod and me on Min/Min. Great fun!

Go back and forth between min/min and mod/mod. Also enjoy mod/min. ;)

I think i now want to stay with min/min too. Also saw most people with max/max online.

But when i hosted a game and named it something like "Birdie off/min" it didn't take long and some players with similar settings joined.

After experimenting, USING 3c with Min/Min (WAY to much distance penalty) and Off/Off, i've settled on Mod/Off. I don't need or want a larger sweet spot, and I can deal with the more "realistic" yardage loss when I miss the snap.

That all said, my "vns" and such are getting less and less when playing Max/Max peeps online.....as they should be hitting good shots IMHO.

I would like to play online versus other 3c´s with no aids, but I think it would be difficult to set this up as most play with all aids online.

I'm always down for a "Off/Off" game.

if u play in a ladder etc then why would you play min/min, max is the norm because its not overly easy and its more fun...if a tour stipulates min settings then fine or its ok as an offline practice thingy....so many people spouting about playing min/min yet everytime i play online i dont see it....where are these people?   lol i think it s more likely to be bs talk.

Not sure if Im reading you correctly but it sounds as if you think max is more difficult than min? You do know min is more difficult right?

yes you are reading me wrong, thats not what i'm saying...i think people like to boast about playing min/min but i never see it online, even after joining 100's of games, where are all these min/min players?...max/max is the norm, if someone in my ladder aranged a tournament that stipulated min/min only then yes i would play it, otheriwse max is the standard and most popular.

Gotcha. I think what it is, many players are playing min/min or off/off within the comforts of their solo game, but when faced with competing against someone suddenly there dialing down the difficulty. :D

I agree with you though. Online, max/max seems to be the difficulty of choice. ;)

I don't know. I've only played about 3 or 4 online rounds and they were all max max players. So, since I preferred min min, I was wondering if the online norm was max max. That's all

the norm is max/max. if you want a game with min/min just ask in the chat or put something in the title like   Min/Min Players and thats

what you will get i would think.

Rest assured, in time I believe we will have the ability to set up game preferences the way we want them and those wanting to join will have to play by the same settings. If, as creator of the game that's what you choose. ;)

I play with Off/Off which forces me to get better, or die!  Mostly I die!  My buddies all play Max/Max and of course they beat me.  My plan is to gradually shame them into turning off the aids.  Wish me luck.
