I hope the banner passes the censors

This tournament is open to everyone and all levels of assists/aids. Simply post your score for the round or rounds to this thread.

I encourage you to play as many rounds as you like before the first round and between subsequent rounds. You don't have to submit a score until you are happy with the result. You have two weeks to complete the tournament so take as long as you like to submit a round.

Round 1 =     80 (+8)  3 Click max/max.

Par 3's killed me. I've played the course 5 times now, and have yet to hit a green on any Par 3. Seems like my meter is faster, or it's just become a mental thing. I know I can play until I get a score I like/want, but I'm OK with turning in what I shoot, as I shoot it. Maybe it'll make me better. If not, I shall be happily known as the HACK of Perfect Golf :-). Maybe I should go ahead and change my name now.

Quick question...sorry for putting it in this thread. Maybe someone could just message me an answer so as to not have non-score posted comments here. I just had an 8 ft birdie putt on #2 (Par 5). I left it 2" short, took the gimme for par. Yet, my scorecard showed it as a bogey. Do gimmes count against you?

Ted, if I'm out of line for asking here, instead of somewhere else, you're welcome to delete this or let me know and I will.

Thanks

Jay

No, that's fine Jay. Ask anything here. It might be a good idea to mention it in the bug section as well.

Was that in your first round score? If so I'll take that stroke off for a 79. Let me know.

Thanks Ted. No, I am playing 2nd rd now. I just took a gimme for bogey, and it gave me dbl bogey. I am going to find the bug section now. When it gave me the extra stroke just now, I immediately searched "gimme" in the forums, and the 1st topic was this one, lol. Actually playing fairly decent, too. I should be -2 thru 7 but I am showing even. I will play it out and not take any more gimmes. I wish I could record my play, but Twitch (OBS) and Ocam make my meter impossible to hit anywhere near the snap.

Thank you for answering so quickly. Makes me wonder how many gimmes I took in the 1st round, lol.

Ted. I just found a post/thread reporting the exact same thing. It may well be that selecting auto gimme is doing it, because even if it's selected, you still have to choose "gimme" or "continue". My next round, I will try with auto gimme off and just take the gimme and see if that is what is causing it. I will keep my score on paper this time. I am wondering how many gimmes I took in the 1st round now, lol. I'll keep the score I posted, though. Just gotta watch that sneaky bug now.

Yeah you still have to hit the "Gimme' button Jay. Feel free to put in new rounds.

Yeah you still have to hit the "Gimme' button Jay. Feel free to put in new rounds.

If you hit the "gimme" button, it will add the stroke. If you hit continue, it will not add the extra stroke. I'm going to play my 3rd round now, with auto-gimme off. I think that is the problem. Also, others are reporting that some putts seem to fall in the hole then come out and go past it. I just had that happen, on a par putt, then clicked continue (expecting bogey) and it gave me the par, lol.

Anyway, I played my best ever round on any course on PG!!!! For my 2nd round, taking my 2 stolen strokes back, I shot a F9 33 and B9 31 for a 64!!!! And, missed a straight in 5ft eagle putt (nerves got me). Not what the big boys/girls will shoot, but I'm grinning like a mule eatin' briars  :D

Wait a minute Jay.  If you have a putt under 2 feet and you have Gimmes set at 2 then the Gimme button lights. If you hit the Gimme button then the game takes the putt for you and that counts as a stroke. If you don't hit the Gimme button and hit the Continue the game makes you physically take the putt and counts as a stroke. Same result.

MS, Off/Min, BLI,  - 7 (65).

I really had a great round. I like the physics changes sooo much. Now it is possible to hold the greens and attack the flags in every possible way (Spin ball back to the flag, stop it with second hop or let it roll up with a lower shot).

I missed only 2 fairways and 4 greens. Three-putted the last (the pin position is brutal!!).

Off to the next round. Probably a rude awakening is waiting for me   :o

Yeah its getting close to ideal. I've got to mention the roll down from the bank in the bunkers. Looks and plays a lot better now. Hard to find any fault overall.

Well we are back on tour and shot 73 +1.  Mod/Mod BLI MS.

Lots of long putts tried to much to keep the ball under the wind and when coming in low it runs thru green to much but that is the same as real golf so its doing its job.  Looking forward to the calm winds of todays round.

I posted my score in the other thread...  +7 for me..  Prior to playing my round, I played a round of Links with my brother...  man, what a difference!

Anyway, looking forward to tightening up in Round #2.  3-click

Edit:  I just noticed the thread about the "gimmie" bug and adding strokes!     Now what do I do??

Round 2: MS, Off/Min, BLI,  - 2 (70).

The course played real different in the second round. The rollout of the drives was really considerably shorter (with just one firmness setting difference? Maybe the devs should look that up - please give us different settings for fairways and greens!). So the irons into the greens were much longer than in the 1st round. For me, the course played way harder (with medium pin positions).

Maybe they have overdone the "grip" of the greens. Firmness for the round was above average. So maybe the longer irons should run out a little bit more. (maybe nitpicking, but i had no fear to hold me 3 iron into almost any pin position. Under relative hard conditions i normally have to land the longer irons shorter of the flag and let them release towards the pin).

Generally i would say that Massachusetts is a course a little bit on the easy side. Almost every tee shot is straight (no shot shaping required) and the pins positions are not that tricky (at least easy and medium ones).
