I have had my graphics setting at ultra high since installing my new video card, a 4 GIG GTX 960 and the game ran very smooth.  After this update there is some stuttering but still playable.  Cup physics do seem to be improved.  The hole on the green when putting is a little more difficult to see after this update.  Hope the stuttering can be fixed fairly quickly.

As I experimented with my graphics settings for the stuttering the trees disappered again.  I had gone through every course and re-set my graphics settings and thought that I wouldn't have to that again.

I've got a major beef with the swing meter markings.  It's distracting when the arrow slides past all those circles on the downswing.  I've always thought a marker indicating the 9 o'clock=10m on a flat green rule of thumb would be great, but the circles have to go, or at least be made an option IMO.  Same as the aimstick in the main window; looks like a totem pole appearing on the fairway!

I found the circles distracting too, both trying to click at my desired power and design wise.

Not really an advocate of marks on the swing meter as it encourages a calculated form of golf, but very faint lines or small dots would do the job without being obtrusive.

Agree the dots would probably be better if smaller.

I'm unsure why we have markers like other golf "sims". I think the constant chatter from a vocal majority who really crave a modern version of Links may have gotten the better of the developers on this occasion. I question the value of swing meter markers in what is designed to be a simulation.
if this is to be a true simulation then the markers are superfluous to needs. In real life our swing is not an indexed or ratcheted motion. Having no markers requires nerves of steel, an inate skill and a "feel" for how much I should "take the club back" to hit that blistering drive down the middle, that scorching low punch into the wind to within 5 feet and that knee-jerking downhill putt from 10 feet to stay in the match.
So I implore the devs remove the markers (or at the very least make it an option or disabled at the more difficult settings)
And stay true to the core principle of the game, that being the physics engine. Focus on nailing the gameplay. And PLEASE enough of the "can we have animals and people lining the fairways and really cool looking grass."

Just to clarify my previous post...
I think the PG team are doing an amazing job. I just think perhaps there's some chatter regarding not so value adding stuff.

I believe the meter markers are disabled at the higher skill settings.

Great. Can we also turn them off at the lower settings? I'm on a Mac so unable to check the new patch due to known issues.
I was under the impression the markers are now ON full time and hope to proven wrong.

I think unlike simplified putting, the meter marks are currently not optional.

Not on home PC as at work, but will check later, unless someone else pops in and confirms this.

Have noted in separate post something about "Pro Shop"... pls add this to my comments above regarding animals and people lining fairways and really cool looking grass and tinsel on Xmas trees and cuddly little kittens and... anything else that distracts from the realistic gameplay.

Daz, I don't believe that's correct. I haven't tested at all player difficulty levels, but I believe the that the meter marks are controlled by toggling them on or off under, per player under 'My Players/Difficulty/Swing Meter Marks, which is the 2nd to the last item in the list. You are correct that depending on difficulty levels they may be 'on' by default but you can select 'off' if you want.

Could someone experiencing microstutters please post their output log or send it to us after they finish their round.  Thanks

They have made the markers optional, but IRL many players do make their swing a ratcheted, pieced together motion. Swing articles teach positioning, analyzers tell people they hit a slice, Pelz has his pupils write their wedge lengths with a variety of backswing lengths on the club shaft for referencing, Aimpoint charts,...

Right from the start with PG people started going to the range to do charts - it just the way many gamers see golf games and I can't say it's any less valid than how I see them. Likewise some appreciate graphics more than physics.

Thanks guys, markers are indeed optional.  Slowly getting used to the 2001 monolith-style aimstick...

Agree with all the above. I'm glad you brought up the hole on the green is more difficult to see because I had the same observation. Stuttering isn't bad but definitely noticeable.

PG is really coming into its own.  I don't think I've ever played a golf game with better physics.  PG now sets the standard, IMO.  Graphically, the game looks great (exc. for the water, which has room for improvement).  The hard work from the development team is really beginning to pay off.  Well done, gentlemen!

I really find it hard to play anything other than Chicago at the moment because of the big texture improvements

Chicago is very well done.  But man... it's a BITCH of a course!!  Kicks my butt day in and day out.  But I love it.  It really makes you work for scoring opportunities - you have to play smart.

The issues you may see regarding the Swing Meter Marks - are that they are listed as ON for 3 out of the 5 pre-determined Difficulty tags.

This means, Beginner, Amateur and Hacker levels will suffer those Swing Meter Marks, when using the Official Difficulty Titles. Only Pro and Tour Pro can play with them off.

You can play at any CUSTOM level with them on or off naturally, but be aware of the Official Titled Difficulty... someone out there hates me for mentioning this lol...
