However, new course graphics are a mess...fairways are black and distance scenery is purple. At least one other course has issues with distance graphics that were not there before.
Also game freezes when trying to quit a round and has to be "force quit" in Apple menu.
Been playing PG for several months with only minor issues...previous patches have been two steps forward and maybe one back...but this one at least for me has been three steps backward.
So gonna put this one on hold for awhile...sadly.

Chicago Oaks is known problem on MAC in fact it's in the patch notes but can you detail which other course has distance graphics issues?

Was able to play Chicago Oaks just fine before this last mini patch....
Thanks for responding so quickly....you all have done an awesome job with previous patches...guess maybe I was expecting that trend to continue...LOL

I am on a 2009 27inch iMac and I can second everything windy said. Game played beautifully when first released. And now worse with each new release to the point I don't even play much anymore. I can't see the ball in flight and it is just a spec "rolling" on the ground. There is no comet tail regardless of settings and I have to turn the graphics down so low the trees look terrible. Now I don't even get distant trees. The movement of the ball on the green is jerky though slightly better this release than last. Still looks like it is moving through glue. The Motion Swing works pretty smoothly but it is just not much fun to play when you can't see the ball as it sails past a melted forest of "trees".

Chicago is very well done. But man... it's a BITCH of a course!! Kicks my butt day in and day out. But I love it. It really makes you work for scoring opportunities - you have to play smart.
Yeah, especially that 2nd hole... tough to get that so early. Always tell myself not to swing too fast on it but it's amazing how many times I do haha.

Curious tho...how is it possible that a patch could get released with these kinds of problems that you are aware of?
Is it because:
1) You dont have Mac testers?
2) You are not listening to your Mac testers?
3) Solving PC problems are more important than Mac issues?
Re: Chicago Oaks is a total graphics mess. You cannot stop a round without having to force quit the program.

Have you volunteered your services here - http://www.perfectpa...ux-users-of-pg/
There are a few of the private beta testers running Mac's and I believe a few of the PP Dev's.

You would think they would need to have only one Mac tester to see these problems. Having said that maybe I should...thanks for the thought.
So by your logic we only need 3 testers. A Windows guy, a Mac guy and a Linux guy, lol.
During private beta testing we have had several occasions where some folks experience problems with a Windows build and others don't. So while 5 of us play without issue there are those with problems.
Recently some folks kept getting the screen flipping upside down when aiming, others didn't. It has since been fixed.
With your 1 tester approach things like this could be missed.

It comes down to a choice sometimes, do we hold the improvements back for everyone or do we push it with known issues detailed in the patch notes?
On this occasion we pushed the new build with these known issues on mac because the fixes to the hole physics and semi rough were significant enough to tip the balance and they affect every player.

So I am not saying there should be only one tester...I am saying any Mac tester could have and would have seen this.

Hence PC priority...case closed...LOL

No that is not what I meant....I meant to say that these are major issues and should have been caught by ANY Mac tester before this last patch was updated....both of these issues were fine before this last mini patch so it would appear to me that they they were in a hurry to solve the "PC stuttering" without making sure something else as obvious as totally ruining their new course release for the Mac community...hence any Mac user could have seen and reported this.
So I am not saying there should be only one tester...I am saying any Mac tester could have and would have seen this.
We did know about it and it was in the patch notes - see my explanation.

No stutters here... on a PC.
I like the Links format, I wish you would add the same type of markings (as an option) for those for Click and prefer this type of method. I really miss the whole Links LS series and seeing Mr. Jones is involved with this I figured I couldn't go wrong.

Just want to say - Wow - and thank you for the update, esp on putting in close to cup. What a difference this makes in the enjoyment of game. I play motion swing - now if I could just keep that ball on the fairway.
Thanks again!
