Has anyone upgraded to OS X Mavericks yet? If so, how do you compare it to previous versions?

I really like the new maps app but overall it seems a but sluggish compared to Mountain Lion.

I have a 2011 iMac with 16Gb RAM

I haven't upgraded yet, Bruce. I'm a late adopter who sits on the fence as long as possible with these things - and who grudgingly evolves only when and if there is no other choice.

I still would like to hear from others about this, though.

A mate of mine updated to Mavericks X and basically said it was no great shakes and had a few tweaks here and there, but the upgrades 'juicier bits' as he called them were only relevant to the newer Mac's and not the one he had.

The two major things that affected me were:

  • Tags, tags are amazingly useful for organizing files by context.
  • Battery life, it doesn't effect older models as much, but I got about an extra hour almost.
