This is only available on lower levels of play. It used to be available all the way up to Tour Pro. I typically only play at Pro and TP levels so I know for a fact that it's disabled there. Can't speak for the other levels but I'd guess that it's still available on the Beginner level and maybe even Hacker level.
To cancel a swing... simply click the left mouse button during your swing and it will reset.
