Personally I don't see the GNCD preparing folks to use CF and Unity, as in TGC their course designer uses all its own interface. With PP's offering, you are working inside Unity 3D first hand, with the CF bolted on top as an asset package.

Daz, there is far more to course design than just learning the technical side of individual software. There is routing skills, difficulty balancing, strategic hole design, aesthetic planting techniques, asset management for frame rates etc. The list goes on. All of these skills can be learned through programs like the GNCD, and will ultimately be of benefit to anyone who wants to progress to designing with Course Forge in the future.  ;)

I didn't say GNCD wouldn't prepare someone for designing courses, I said I couldn't see it helping with operating CF & Unity.

All the aspects of course designing could be learned with a pen and paper. Once the designs are down, then you go play with the course design tools.

That's true, but that's not as fun.  ;)

I would suggest that the version used by JN Design team and/or PP themselves is likely to be a bit more than the one released with game (i.e. the one for use commercial gain), but I could easily be wrong.

"Home Edition" sounds like something you get as a consolation prize on a game show.  :D
