Nice course. How long is it going to be from the tips?

The course will be a shade over 6900 yards, and a par 71.

Love the look of the blends around the bunkers. I can't get mine to look anywhere near that. would love to see your method of how you achieved this.

It was a bit trial and error really, I used the Unity stock texture 'ground 4' and layer blended in photoshop with the mestlightrough texture from PP (as texture 2) along with the O_rough2 texture (texture 1) from the PP library.  Then basically, I colour-corrected the ground 4 texture until it was a decent match...

Thanks for the tip Gary. I will do some experimenting. My Photoshop skills are a little limited, and I only have 50+ bunkers to deal with now, but will look way better.

Work continues...  This is another shot with the 5th landing zone in the foreground leading to the green (top left).  The 6th fairway (unfinished) above and the par three 7th green top left.

On the home stretch now...  All holes set up and bunkering done.  Just the pins to place and a few wrinkles to iron out then it's ready for testing :)

Played 9 holes on this amazing track today with Mike on Tour Pro.  I hit 0% fairways and I think Mike hit 17%... My we are bad, but with the new Physics in testing it was tough to wail away with driver and expect to find the fairway.  the few times I did land it in the fairway it found a way to get off it.  Ended up +2 for the 9 holes so not too bad.

A truely excellent Golf Course my hats off to you.  Fun, Challenging and different.

Andrew: I confess I had to snicker a little when I saw your post about FIR. Played nine, not snickering any more. :o

It's really weird too because you can clearly see there is fairway in the top view!  LOL.

Well, it's currently in for testing...  I have already made a few amendments, and there's still a significant amount of planting and object placement do do before it's ready

In the meantime here's a couple of videos of the 16th and 18th holes:

Are you adding bumper rails, like in bowling, up the left side of 18?  It appears I will need some .... :D

I know right? The first time I played the 18th, I got out a couple extra golf balls and put em on my desk cause I figured I'd need them.... LOL

I love seaside courses and you have done an amazing job.  I especially like the graphics for the ocean and waves.  It has a very realistic look and am eagerly awaiting it's release.  I'm curious as to whether the layout is based on a real course?  Thanks.

Thanks for the comments...  It's not based on any course in particular, more a collection holes which represent how I see links golf.

The 18th is a fantastic looking hole and I sure hope I can find a way back up that cliff as I will be spending a lot of time there. Just a gorgeous Golf hole.

Just thought that I'd post an update...

I have now spent the best part of 3 weeks trying to create some buildings and other prefabs for the course.  Unfortunately I'm not finding this an easy task, mainly as everything that I build looks good in the 3d design package and not too bad in Unity, but awful in-game.

I will keep plugging away, but frustration is slowly getting the better of me at the moment

That would be great :)

You don't happen to have a clubhouse lying around??

This is my 'effort' so far...  I think that I'm just not cut out for texturing...

You can never have enough dunes courses.  We have a course in Michigan with pot bunkers and grass bunkers hidden from site.  Tough, but I love it just the same.  I am truly leveled by all the beautiful pictures of the various courses-in-development.  like Pavlov's dogs, I am salivating!
