That's how TS is, you can hit straight, draw or fade by the way you move the mouse.. It's been in TW's PC Series, for years and I love it.. With good sound effects and swing, you can almost feel yourself hitting the ball.. No lie...

This discussion has triggered my brain......I seem to recall downloading a beta of a golf game, something like 'on-golf' where you had to 'trace' your mouse in a curve, to sort of imitate the direction of the swing.
Anyone see this this?
Ya, it was called OnGolf and it had a required half circular arc mouse swing which was too difficult IMHO.
I haven't played that golf game in a long time and the website (http://www.ongolf.com) is temporarily unavailable so I'm not sure if they are still in business.

axe360,
If you are comparing TS to Ongolf's mouse swing it's not the same. Every shot has to incorporate a semi circular arc motion even to hit it straight.

No, I never seen Ongolf. Thank you for that, MERACE..
So I was looking back at my old TW's manual from 06 and I also noticed that they had the option for a gamepad controller back then. I also seem to remember that when you went online to play, most folks didn't like to play against someone using said controller because they had some kind of advantage? Been a long time though..
I just didn't realize that using controllers wasn't something new.. Hmmm, guess that shows how much they have caught on...They Haven't!!!! lol

The first ideas that are accepted by the masses are always the best to perpetuate. A circular swing meter is akin to an automobile configuration. Many people have tried to improve a car but it still has four wheels and a steering wheel.
Ridiculous to be moving a mouse on a flat surface and think one is having a better virtual golf experience. Just plain poppycock. Of course jury-rigging the mouse/driver or sliding it along an edge is fair play to some long time players. Of course everything else they do in life probably is deviant as well.
Not to worry long time PC golfers. Three-Click-Meters are for everyone and will be an option in any installed PC game, period.

What's HB? K11 is right about the 3 click swing meter. A game would not have as many players playing if the person in question has a preference to playing an online game, that they're shelling out money for. If a player chooses to use true swing, that's their right, just as another player that chooses to use a 3 click meter, also has the right to do so. I can't stand true swing, so, if a game doesn't have it, they're not getting my money. Case closed.

They are developing The Golf Club, which is their new golf game for PC, XBOXONE and PS4
They are also using Unity as their base for the game, which also comes with a course designer which can also create you a course based on a few variables and location selected.
Hard to say how much further along their game is compared to Perfect Golf as we get so little in the way of progress reports from PP.
Good thing is we potentially have 2 next gen games coming.
Bad thing is we don't know any release dates, although HB Studios are a few weeks away from a closed gameplay beta apparently.

True swing came out with PGA golf, which later became TW golf. True swing went away in TW 12 and the swing meter was left. I personally preferred true swing but I learned to use the meter. Right now I don't care which mouse, meter or controller they use, just release a new game to replace TW. I'm 67 and would like to start playing again.
