How easy is it to find infomation and import terrain  for courses like this http://www.easingwoldgolfclub.co.uk/

Much prefer making this sort of courses than long, hard US style courses

The easy way will be using Bing Maps with Terrain Importer just like in this video.

The harder way, possibly with higher resolution terrain data, would be using Terrain Importer like done here  but obtaining the elevation files from http://geomatics-group.co.uk (or some other mapping mob covering the UK) as National Map doesn't.

Not recommended without TI unless you're pretty cluey with this stuff or someone writes a tutorial on a process. I've imported the terrain for Hillside Golf Club next to Birkdale, but describing the process would take pages and require tools that many won't have access to. This is why Terrain Importer was written.

The video makes it look very straightforward with the Terrain Importer.

Unfortunately I don't have Terrain Importer and the download looks to have been disabled  :(

You could try the tutorial I made up using Google Sketchup in this thread. (Scroll down a bit on the page to find video)

I imported the course into Unity with no problem, this is the result I got

Sully, the TI isn't available... so, for now you'll have to either wait or find a different approach.

It will be wait then, though to be honest I'm losing interest in designing at the moment as I really don't want to start another Links design.
