Saw another post on here about this, and now I can't find it. After doing the tutorials through the compiling one, and compiling my first hole (my first hole!), I tried to run the course in PP and it gets stuck at %50. Checked to make sure I hadn't put any caps in the filename (hadn't), checked to make sure I'd put in the tee I was playing from (I had), looked around to see if there were any stray tees (I'd read about this one...there weren't any that I could see), and recompiled, moved the file, ran PP, got the same problem. :(

Thanks in advance for the HELP!

Just checking do you have 3 flags on the green 1 easy, 1 medium and 1 difficult?

I've lost count of the times i thought i had checked everything, you must have a rogue pin, tee somewhere...the debugg tutorial would be handy here.

Mike, I've got one of each just like in the tutorial. I'll recheck for "errant tees or pins", but they should be pretty easy to find if your in the right mode, right?

Just found an errant tee (and they AREN"T so easy to see), as well as a camera that had been put in. Deleted these, recompiled, and its still doing it, Guess I'll have to go back and scour the landplot for more strays.

You can see if its a pin issue by changing to say easy, medium, difficult when loading the game. If it doesnt load on only one set of pins, its an errant pin. If it does it all on pins its probably a tee.

Not sure if missing shot points also cause a hang on load? They may be worth checking too, 1 needed on par 4s, 2 on par 5s

Failing that and until this DEBUG tutorial appears, you could try my manual approach for finding errant pins. Can also use the same approach to find tees and shot points too

Watched the tutorial (good stuff!), followed it, and it only showed 3 pins (the right ones), and three tees (same). It didn't show a flyover object (could that be the problem...I put one in?). Anyhow, thinking about starting from scratch (this is just a test run...but its still hard to throw away the work).

You can do a search in debug mode for more things because you might have planted a pin for another unmade hole unwittingly somewhere. Try doing a search for medium, easy, difficult etc. You can also double click on each of the items found and will take you directly to them so you can see if the pins are actually planted on a green.

Just debugged it again and realized my pins and tees had mysteriously changed to the 9th hole (I don't think I did that?). Deleted them and put in the proper tees and pins, and debugged again, and it showed the right tees and pins and a flyover. Recompiled, saved, moved, and ran the game and it still stuck at 50%. Went back and debugged, checking each hole element. Turns out the flyover I had put in had moved "out into the ether" a mile away. Deleted it, put in a new one, saved terrain and scene, debugged, double clicked on the flyover, and it was back in the same space. Repeated this 3 times before I gave up. Thinking real hard about starting a new project as this one seems cursed, and the tutorials I'm looking at next will require a par 4 or 5 (shotpoint),

Also, often when I debug, and then turn debug off, it stays in the "greyed out mode" that it goes into on the main screen. Is this normal?

Just guessing here, but when you did the flyover, were you looking at the hole from a golfer's perspective?  I wonder if it's better to draw it while looking straight down on the hole?

Have you done an out of bounds for the hole?

Yup! Followed the tutorial. Think I'll start fresh. Start a new "test project". I don't think I did anything wrong, but I'm not so stubborn, or illogical, to think I couldn't have. I'll start with a wide open par four (my favorite for a first hole), that depends on fairway position to get the best shot at birdie. Guess I'll put a little water on it too (as those tutorials are coming up).

Check the version of Unity you are using. You should use 5.2.3 f1, just this version!

That's the one (although I'm not sure about the F1 part). Started a new project, and eagerly await a different outcome after finishing my first hole. Sure glad this didn't happen with something I had put more than a few hours into (knock on wood ;) ).

Update: it is 5.2.3f1.

Just as a matter of interest, if you zip up just your scene file and get it to me via dropbox or something I'll take a look and see what the problem might be. It might be useful as another debugging tutorial if I can find the issue.
