It *is* going to get smoother, right?  (like a lot lot smoother?)

Seemed incredibly choppy in both the YT & Vimeo links (ball in flight)

I'm sure there will be plenty of fine tuning and optimising. The video is of BETA gameplay don't forget.

I get that - But it's un-watchably "not smooth" in those videos.

Trying to determine if any of that is the video capture or if "that's where it's truly at" right now (the game)

TS,

I'm testing and gameplay is smooth. I would say watching F's video clip, it is the capture that is causing the jerky-ness and not the game itself.

I'm playing full screen at 2560x1440 and it's just fine.

Great work guys and thanks for posting the screenshots.

How is the motion swing feeling currently?
Is it (or will it be) possible to play shots that require less than full power, chip shots, three quarter shots etc?
Is there any lag between moving the mouse and seeing the ani movement?

Keep up the fine work.

The motion swing is not easy, even on the least difficult settings. My best round so far at that setting was an 80. Swing tempo is critically important...if the downswing is too fast or too slow the ball will go either right or left and there will be distance penalties as well. This means that using an edge will give little or no advantage since your swing tempo will determine how straight the flight path is, along with how straight you move the mouse. Mouse sensitivity plays a role as well. You will need to play around with the pointer speed settings in mouse properties to find what "feels" best for you.

You can play just about any type of shot you can think of.  :)

Currently, since the ani has only just now been added to the game, it is tied in with the swing meter and the visual of the swing takes place after your swing is completed. We've been told this is temporary and will change to a "mouse movement controls the ani in real time" type swing.

On it's most difficult setting breaking 100 will feel like an accomplishment and a round of par or better will be a major feat.  :D

Like most graphically intensive PC games the frame rate is dependent upon the quality of video card in a computer.  I'm also testing PG on my low spec laptop and like TGC it does not run very smoothly as I would like.  This is not a criticism of PP, just my experience.

I noticed that as well. The video was VERY, VERY choppy. Looked good otherwise.

I just finished a 18 holer and only had 2 or 3 swings where I had some lag problems. Not sure if it is a bug, steam related or if it was a problem with my connection. I guess it was my connection as it was ok on most of the holes.

Great news, so the days of people shooting in the 50s has gone, hooray.

You shouldn't think these times are over. There are some guys out there which will find a formula or anything else to play the low scores. But the majority of the players will play "normal" rounds. I know I keep saying that, but I don't believe the real golf cracks will ignore PG ;)

P.S.: I'm not talking about cheating, I'm talking about charting clubs etc.

Usually lag on the swing meter becomes noticeable when the frame rate drops below 24 fps. Depending upon your graphics settings it's possible that trees/shadows/grasses in the main view are a little more intense than on other holes and caused the frame rate to drop for those shots. I usually run Fraps when playing a course which shows the frame rate as on overlay. I can be getting 40+ fps in the game and suddenly one view will cause it to drop down and then it goes back up on the next screen.
