Classic game!

I played an absolute F-Ton of Golden Bear Challenge!

I remember that I got so dialed in with the 3C on that game that hole in ones were something that would/could happen on most every round at some point for me, often times more than once.

I played the snot out of that game too!  It was way ahead of it's time in my opinion.

Funny you say that!

I just noticed in my closet that I also have the box/CD/all of it!

Great looking gold CD by the way!

I enjoyed GBC so much that I kept one of my old PC's setup with XP and a standard monitor to play it.

There are a couple of patches at goldenbearsden.com that might help.

About 3 years ago there was a move to get the game updated to utilise modern technology but Mike (forget his other name) from Hypnos wouldn't budge on the issue.

PC specs...

Intel core I7 9700k 3.6 GHZ-Turbo 4.9 GHZ

I had it working under Windows 10 with widescreen on my last laptop, though the screen was slightly stretched. Better than the black borders though. This was a great game (though rather easy), and the designer was a lot of fun to use. Only designer where I actually finished and released a couple of courses. JNPG is the only reason I didn't install it on this laptop.

well, i just hex edited the resolutions in the Executable file and able to get it running in 720p and 1080p.

i'm testing it now on my win 7 64bit system.

i'll post a link to it when i'm done, at Wide Screen Gaming.

this game looks alot better in 1080p.

That's great ArteGal, reviving JN6 to my main system would be a perfect way to start 2017 :D
So many courses in my archive, ready and waiting to be called into action!

That is pretty amazing...

Obviously some small issues (menu bar length, etc), but just "wow"..

Not to pick a nit, but isn't it amazing how this shows how much our current game will benefit from 3D grass and lighting upgrades?

GBC is really really old now....and PG looks better than the HD screenshot you posted....but not 17 years better

Give GBC some newer/better looking foilage and that game would be totally passable today in my view..

If there were some AA applied in there, things would look really rather nice..

(given its age of course)

I love their hole overviews.  JNPG should try to emulate this!  Looks MUCH nicer!

Do something like what GB has and add some distance markers (or bands) to it and it's almost something I'd leave up the whole round instead of closing it down like I do with the currently (ugly) one.
