Good read Mika, it's nice to get inside a designers head to get a better understanding of what the course is all about.

Fantastic looking links course, bunkers look like they were moulded and part of the landscape.

There is no shame in defeat, there is only shame if you do not learn from it.

Hello everyone,

Red course at fictional Great River Country Club is, just like the white course, loosely based on a real life location/terrain some 10 km from the white course. Landscape has plenty of sand features, small lakes and few holes are on rolling dunes land yet not as dramatic as on the white course. The red course was on hold forever and finally got it going again some time ago. Hopefully get the first beta out soon.

The 19th hole par 3 in pictures was used as a playoff hole to decide any tied matches. In modern times the 19th green can be used as an alternative green to provide additional challenge in championship tournaments.

Few more pictures of the landscape. Sand will be very much in play at almost every hole. There is also plenty of water around the holes but they are not much of a strategy. Water looks pretty on the background but I find it quite boring as a hazard. After all from the strategic point of view, it's just red or yellow paint in the ground.

Played great river White again, soooo natural and organic, love the layout/design and strategically crafted too

Your work with textures /blending   makes your courses top shelf

Hi all, I would need some help. I have nearly all holes finished with the exception of no. 13 par 5 550- 520m from champ tees. What would you do with this? Which option(s) (A, B, C) should be build?

A. 300 - 280m carry from champ tees 8m downhill with very deep narrow sandy gully to carry. Reward - 220 - 180m to green with open view and line.

B. 260 - 240m carry from champ tees 8m downhill with deepish sandy gully to carry. Reward - 260 - 220m to green with some trees blocking the view and line to green.

C. 210 - 190m carry from champ tees 8m downhill very wide and long fairway. Reward - 240 - 300m to green with tall pine trees blocking the view and line to green.

Tees can be moved if needed.

First part of fairway can be changed depending on the options used.

Group of trees between tees and fairway can be chopped if using option B.

Green and green surrounds can be changed if you have good ideas.

I'm also willing add some bunkers and other details if you feel it would make it a better hole.

You could offer all 3 routes on the same hole if you adjust the position/size of the seperate pieces of terrain and their distances from the tees. I did this with another course designer and it came out pretty well.

I think you already have it built.  Agree with Clubcaptain; offering all options is an excellent way to go.  I love the green undulations.

Yeh Mika, give us the all spices  please

Like more options off the tee, so all three are good , makes it more interesting, exciting and  more strategic

Rather strategic holes than penal ones anyday

So add those spices and chillies for me

Thank you mate

Here is the latest for the Red Course. This has been up for testing quite some time now and haven't found anything new to fix but please let me know if something appears and I'll keep updating it.

Great River Red has a drastically different colour scheme depending on whether you play it with dynamic skies or not. With dynamic skies on it looks quite natural, but with dynamic skies turned off everything is bathed in a yellow hue. My golfer, who is dressed in white becomes a creamy yellow colour with this setting turned off.
