And also from where do you get textures? You wrote down, that you use 90° and than 45° for fairway. I want exactly the same, but in photoshop I m no able to rotate it on 45°. How did you do it? Or do you think it s better to use fairway with no stripes and have much easily job to do? Also do you use your own textures for other places than fairways (like rough or green?).

I'm sure there are designers here that would be happy to help, myself included,
but are wary of leading you into areas that are not spoken of aloud,(Layers Library).
It's a good idea to use the default terrain and textures to create your first course and
not stray to far. After some time with CF and Unity the more advanced features will
come easier. We all went through this process, and are still learning. Practice, Google,
and Time are your friends, there is no rush. All the questions you ask have been asked
before. Read the Show and Tell forum from the beginning, it's full of info and video that will open
new doors into your design capabilities. Post pics, these always help to solve any problem.
We are here, and will help with profuse bleeding, but for the small cuts you'll have to use
your own band-aids.

I have a Photoshop template that I've made with mow lines of several directions and thicknesses that are on individual layers. The transparencies (of the stripes) can also be adjusted. Basically they are just black lines I've made and tested for tiling and then reduced to mostly transparent.
To make a texture with stripes, I just load one into the background layer of this template, pick the stripes I want, and then save as another file, being careful not to overwrite the template (I have backups of said template elsewhere on my hard drive.... learned from experience).
Lately I've been experimenting using a grayscale overlay of the stripes pattern so I can independently adjust the size of both the texture and the stripes, sort of like as a bump map, but because the overlay is itself not transparent, sometimes it will change the color of the texture underneath it, and I'll have to tweak it in the layers library. This can be problematic if you use a stripeless version of the texture elsewhere.

Many thanks. I ve watched some tutorials and I m more clever about that than before :-D. However, I can work with unity pretty well (I have also worked with Blender too), but with photoshop I m really noobe. Could you please put here maybe two or three backround layers you use for making textures?

Thanks for informations. I made some good textures, but is there a way to use texture size 2048X1024 or it has to be 1024X1024 for course forge?

Not sure why the odd size, the Terrain must be square, and Unity and CF
seem to love square. Most use either 1024 x 1024, or 2048 x 2048
for the terrain or even 4096. You can use any size you like, but Unity will want to
know what the Max size of the texture is in the inspector.
In other words, keeping all textures square is best, no matter what the size.

You can use any texture size, though the powers of 2 system (256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096 etc) works best for historical reasons and defines thresholds of performance inside Unity. If you stray from the trodden path, remember to set the aspect ratio of the texture tiling identical to the aspect ratio of your texture image - or it will look distorted. In your example a 2048 x 1024 texture would need to be twice as wide in meters as it is high.
