I use Windows 8 but use a windows 7 desktop emulator. No problems here.

And that's the rub.  Windows 95 to Windows 7's Start Button/Menu/All Programs/Search Field was and is the Hallmark of Windows for 20 years.  Removing it from future Windows OSes is as crazy as removing the steering wheel of car.......it's just that ludicrous.

Having to download a major UI tweaker to have the semblance of Windows 7's Start Menu is just plain wrong. It should still be there forever in all Windows non-touch screen desktops and laptops.  Even the touch screen users aren't all that crazy about the new UI.

I learned the W8 UI.........and it sucks.

My mother purchased a laptop and it came preinstalled with Windows 8. I had to familiarize myself with it a little bit but I found it impressive that she caught on really fast. For me, I don't like it and I'm going to stick with 7 for as long as possible. She hasn't had many problems with it but it would have been easier for her if it just had Windows 7. Why they tried to make a one size fits all OS for tablets and PCs I do not know.
