Ya, I never bothered to try it in TGC1 or TGC2 based on trusted reviews that I was reading.

Hopefully, career mode is VASTLY improved in TGC 2019.

It seems like it will be greatly improved.  Whether it's good enough or not... only time will tell.  But at least we don't have to pay separately for it this time!

I think it has something like that (maybe exactly, but I can't remember).  But the idea is you start out as a nobody and work your way up to the big time.

The game released early by mistake in many regions (Microsoft) and a guy streamed it last night for like 10 hours!

https://www.twitch.tv/videos/299931942

The commentary from him and the comments were total internet gold at times, especially some of the comments from HB fans and forum regulars.

On one hand you feel bad for HB as this early release wasn't their fault, and on the other hand you don't feel bad as they've gone totally dark and mostly stonewalled their forum users for the last month on what's coming and when.

This early release appears to have charged the user firmly in the AAA $50-$60 pricing range.
(exchange rates/regional taxes, etc may impact this of course)

I sure hope they get it released soon as they've lost control of their tightly controlled narrative.

At 30 or 40 bucks I might have picked up but at 50 to 60 I wait and see.  Its not because I think its to much money for a game I dont but I dont trust that they have fixed the issues of the game and until I find out if they have my money stays in my wallet.

No question - It's *way* outside impulse buy at these prices (unless that changes or will be different in N America)

Took one look at that avatar (in The Golf Club) and I'll pass. Thank you.

They must have found some homeless guy in the back alley with spinal problems and no experience swinging a golf club to mocap.

He's a big fat greedy (billionaire) git called Mike Ashley who owns a football club that I happen to follow. This link should give you an idea of why i/we don't like him...

Lol i thought it looked like ashley too...pig of a man!  Newcastle deserve better, such a great fan base and club,  that in the right hands could see the club up there with the best, its just limbo whilst he's still there.

I thought everyone loved Mike Ashley now, seeing as he saved House of Fraser from extinction.

Joking aside, he really has dragged Newcastle Utd through the gutter in his time at the helm. The sooner he parts company with the club will not be a day too soon.

Looks like the official release announcement will come on Monday and most (including me) are expecting a Tuesday (8/28) release date.

After watching that early release stream i really fail to see much difference apart from the dumbed down difficulty.  Master clubs appear to be on a par with amateur difficulty in JNPG.  Looks like its gonna retail at £40 which is quite a hike for what is pretty much the same game. How poor did those trees look on xbox! i see no real improvement there.  I would imagine the game plays a bit better than TGC2 but £40 for what looks like an update patch to the current version is shocking, can safely say i won't be tempted, never at that price.

Careful - I hinted at that exact point and got banned - again

They have some seriously thin skin over there.

Clearly feels like a "publisher" is involved once more, especially in light of the draconian moderation and inability to handle even fair criticisms.

It appears to me that they are justifying the price hike on the tour license, the game itself appears to have had minor tweaks that should have been a patch for TGC 2 and nothing more.  From the actual footage of the licensed courses we have seen, that hike looks a complete cash grab, as the licensed courses do not look anything special, pretty average work compared to the real life courses created in course forge. If you seriously pay AAA price for this garbage, then you clearly have more money than sense.
