It appears to me that they are justifying the price hike on the tour license, the game itself appears to have had minor tweaks that should have been a patch for TGC 2 and nothing more. From the actual footage of the licensed courses we have seen, that hike looks a complete cash grab, as the licensed courses do not look anything special, pretty average work compared to the real life courses created in course forge. If you seriously pay AAA price for this garbage, then you clearly have more money than sense.
LOL! I do tend to agree that the "official" courses are nothing special. There are a handful (or more) of designers (including yourself) that easily run circles around what HBS can do with their courses.
For me personally (and I reiterate the word "personally" because I don't intend for this statement to apply to anyone but me) I've enjoyed playing TGC2. I see TGC 2019 as a step forward since it addresses some (not all) of the key issues I have with TGC2's gameplay. So for me, it's worth the money. I'm not really seeing a huge benefit in all the PGA licensing and I'm willing to be that the career mode won't be great either. Where it's at for me is improved core gameplay and the new online multiplayer system.
If you're someone who didn't like TGC2 then TGC 2019 isn't going to be much (if any) better for you so you'd be better off saving your money.
