Here's a direct link to a response I got from the Producer of the game, Shaun West, in a poll thread I started a week ago.  He follows up with another response, two or three messages later:

Shaun's replies keep feeling so cavalier and conversational.
Do you think it's most likely there won't be anything new/updated until E3 of 2020?

Sure feels like nothing is even close to imminent in that space.

I think there's a new policy on official communications since last July/August.  How much of it came from HB Studios and how much of it is down to the publishing agreement with 2K, I really don't have a guess.

I think the earliest we'll see anything from HB Studios/2K on the next product would likely be E3, 2020.  They could possibly introduce it at The Game Developer's Conference, as they did with TGC 2, but E3 2020 would be my bet.

Silly question but why is another golf game forum discussion umm, sort of taking place on PG forum?  IMHO it is just rude.

Sorry.
...you have a good point.

Let’s stay on the topic of talking about an update we know nothing about, may not exist, and nobody can comment on.

Does it really matter? It's nice to see people talking and both PG and TGC are great games. This update thread should cease to exist because I think everyone knows hell will freeze over and pigs will fly before they ever say anything.

Rude is one person saying it's rude, this is a golf forum for god's sake.

Joe, With all due respect I simply voiced my opinion.  I also know that the other forum would have squashed such behavior.   I can only speak for me but I doubt I am alone in my opinion.

Good (and fair) point. There is a HUGE post at the 'off topic' section on TGC. Lets try to keep this discussion structured in one place in this case. This post is about PG2, not TGC. Just my 2C. I will continue to post on the TGC post.

(No-one say anything till we get a response OK)

Ah forget it......back to TGC

When are they going to get a decent avatar without stubby legs or a hunchback (not that there's anything wrong with that) or a straight left arm?

Given the fact there is zero moderation or participation by the people who own this forum, "off topic" items will be posted from time to time... not a big deal.    Besides, I think we should be happy content like discussing another game is good for these forums.   Keeps the few 15 or so forum members coming back to read something new.   The fact of the matter is, there really isn't much else to discuss about PG that has not been discussed before, so why not veer off topic?   In terms of an update... waste of keystrokes.

At this point, other than course WIP discussions, the entire forum is abandonware and really "any topic" is basically "on topic" if it keeps people coming back and actually participating.

TGC 19 has got devs chatting in the forums but i don't believe any updates or fixes are being made

but at least they are there to answer questions for folks, only been on there a couple of weeks now but it is an

TGC19 is a new game - hasn't been out for a year yet. JNPG had plenty of support in the first year after it was released - and more updates in that time than TGC19 has had.

Only a very small percentage of games survive or get supported for more than 3 years. Consider servers remaining up as a bonus. It's also a bonus if the golf game we prefer releases a new version.

But no-one gets to make two people their bitches for life because they bought their first product for $20. I sometimes wonder if the entitlement I see tossed around here (not necessarily yours) is a genetic missing of slavery.

The devs chose to design and release this game where servers are required to play user designed courses.  They damned well better keep the servers running.

In addition, the game, in its current state, lacks features we had in Links 2003.  That's very disappointing.

No one misses slavery, but we do expect to get and keep what we paid for.

They damned well better keep the servers running... They will shut it down whenever they want to. Making threats will only make them close it quicker than we would like. For £20 i got my monies worth and more.

2 years ago, I bought a POS Centech battery charger for $55 from Harbour Freight. It no longer holds a charge and is essentially a paper weight.

It's laughable the amount of return I've gotten on my JNPG investment. The course designer alone could've been on a yearly subscription model.

I burn $10 a month to Adobe to use Photoshop and Lightroom.

I'm not saying it's ok because I'm willing to throw away money.

I'm just saying the $35 I spent for JNPG is surely many times over satisfying me more than my hibachi meal last night. The sake was damn good though...

I'm not really sure why these chats always devolve down to "Best $20 I ever spent!"
No questioning the value of the initial purchase! Been amazing on the straight value front.

How the game was sold and the intentions have obviously changed over time.
Just being realistic, it is a little scary that the server access is "included for free" since the game very nearly totally depends upon server access to work.

I'm very grateful the servers are still up.

I'd honestly be happy to pay a monthly fee to keep those going if that eventually becomes an issue.
