Very interesting indeed...  and it looks like one heck of a machine will be needed to run it well.

edit: probably faster than the specs I have now.

Went to Digital Storm and ordered me up a nice gaming machine :)

Intel i3 chip at 3.9G

16 gig DDR4 RAM

GeForce 970 GTX 4gig vid card

240G SSD

1TB HD

Windows 10

It's HERE!!  JNPG runs great with all the bells and whistles at max or close to it...  I still turn 3D render off for the swing, tho.

Unless I'm totally missing something, this appears to be only playable with simulators such as TrackMan.

That leaves me out, I'm a clicker only.

It appears that way to me, but, the Steam page first video shows a guy sitting at his PC playing it. I would guess it's targeted at the simulator market, but they see a way to make $$$ by selling the courses as DLC to us PC schmucks.

3C only?

Yea, I just hope they don't have a forum.

I didn't spend more than 5 minutes in the demo, looks like you can't even play. It does give you an idea about the graphics. I like PG better from what little I've seen of this demo.

I took a 4k screenie, FPS felt good, but it should with these graphics (which I couldn't adjust it seems).

I wouldn't worry about that

If it's 3C only, it will self select to a user base that probably mostly all gets along anyhow.

Out of curiosity I have attempted to look at this on Steam, but all it says is coming soon. Are you actually using this?

It's a 1.4gig demo of 1 course, I think. I couldn't ever get the 3c HUD to show up, but I could aim and flyby the course. I got tired of fiddling with it and deleted. You need to create an account to DL the demo I would guess.

I wonder if the Jones Boys are involved. I recall when they were first putting together PG they considered using a "no avatar" model, at least they demoed a version that was shooting the ball like it was out of a cannon.

It appears to me the "no avatar" thing is because this is originally designed for simulators. The dev responds on the steam page saying

The game comes with (5) Courses to play and we will offer additional course packs for users to purchase. Users with the initial download won't notice any difference in the game, besides the course content.

Discussion page is here.

If you get an avatar, I bet it will be DLC.

Very interesting. The E6 golf simulator software was developed by the core group from Access Software, including Chris Jones, Dave Ashby, Steve Johnson and Roger Carver. It has been on the market for years now. They have decided to go the opposite route of TrackMan and port their software to the PC game market. Visually, you can see the connections back to the old Links 386 Pro software and it looks a bit dated. It will be interesting to see if it only includes a 3-click interface, which I think is probably the case.

If the product is a success, it could inspire TrackMan to allow their latest software to be released as Perfect Golf 2. But, that is probably wishful thinking at this point.

I'll bet your 99% right. I went to the steam page to check it out. It was supposed to be released on the 22nd. And all I see is this.
