Hi everyone,

I've re-launched PGLS with the following changes ...

1. The PGLS 9 and Match 9 ladders are now split into the levels found at PG. eg Beginner, Hacker, Amateur, Pro and Tour Pro. You choose a level you would like to play at and compete against others of the same level.

2. Tournies have currently been removed until I get the API sorted with PG. I will keep everyone informed as to the progress of this.

UPDATE

New "Combined" level ladder for players not caring about who they play or at what level they play at PG.

:) Great. Only I have the following questions:

"Steam ID:

Please enter your Steam ID here which can be found via the console in Perfect Golf using netid"

What is the "console" in Perfect Golf?

Where else can I find my steam id?

Why does it have to be so complicated to find it?  Googled it and apparently I need third party software just to find it!!! :o

P.S. Im currently using onlinegolftour. Did I need my id for that as well? Don't remember going through all this trouble.

Thanks

Ok so I have taken the liberty of answering my own post as I found the answer on how to locate the ID. (Totally crazy that you can't just look it up on the Steam console).

*  Load the PG game
*  Click on Multiplayer
*  In the player list on the right, click on your player name
*  Click on View Steam Profile
*  Look right above the Steam logo, you'll see a url address field
*  Look at the end of the address, you'll see your Steam id

Mine is:  http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198059606571/

Hope this helps.

ANNOUNCING THE OPENING OF THE RETREAT COUNTRY CLUB

- IN ASSOCIATION WITH PGLS (PERFECT GOLF LADDER SYSTEM) -

THE SOCIAL SIDE OF ONLINE GOLF

The Retreat Country Club - http://the-retreat-country.club/ - is a new site which is available for existing PGLS members and new players wishing to join PGLS, which offers an easy introduction into getting involved in competitive and friendly competition in Tour strokeplay, Matchplay and strokeplay ladders, Alt Shot team matches and Knockout events.

Utilising the PGLS engine, The Retreat Country Club is a one-stop 'jump' site which takes you to each competition arena, and which takes new players step-by-step, through its clickable Interactive Guide, through sign-up to get you straight into the action.

Coming very soon on the site will be the ability to see which PGLS members are online in Steam, playing Jack Nicklaus Perfect Golf, and offering the facility to send messages to them directly to make challenges and arrange future matches or pairings for Tour rounds.

Nice one Mike. The site is very good looking and it must be very easy to use as I could navigate  it without anyone having to hold my hand........

Hi Perc,

I think from what you describe you are seeing the status box at the top of PGLS. It is reporting what events are open, and any you have available to sign-up for.

On the PGLS site, if you go to Tournies in the button menu, it will give you a drop-down to the PGA9. Select that and it takes you to the page for the tour event where there are additional tools to view leaderboard, course and conditions, and Season archives.

If using The Retreat Country Club site, simply click on Play Tour 9 holes and it will take you to the same location.

To play, you need to have contacted an online partner to play, you then timestamp your scorecard, have a set time in which to complete your 9 holes of play in, and then record scores for your partner or partners. All this is prompted through the MarkerBot (I'm tempted to call him Marvin) over in the Meet and Greet chat area where you should be taken having set up the timestamped match.

I'm available online to give you a walk-through and play a round if and when you wish.

PGLS now has its own Steam presence, to aid in matchmaking and to see who is currently active and around to play. This, allied with the PGLS Meet & Greet, should mean members can find matches much easier.

Feel free to sign up, and then if not already a member at PGLS, complete registration through either http://pgls.golfladd...orums/index.php or at http://www.the-retreat-country.club/

Would love to join Mike, but I am finding it very difficult to like this game at the moment. Not only is there not the swing method I would prefer, but it looks like the design process will be too convoluted with it's reliance on Unity. That is if CF is ever released to the general public  ;)

Even the controller method doesn't have the degree of control I believe it should have, especially around the green  :(

Hi Sup,

If I can be of assistance in showing you round, hopefully at some point you will be able to see me in either the Meet & Greet chat at http://pgls.golfladd...ms/ajaxchat.php or on our dedicated Steam Group at http://steamcommunit.../groups/JN-PGLS where there is a chatroom facility with voice chat available.

I played my first ladder round last night. It couldn't be easier after being led through the process by MiMiC. It is simply a matter of going to Meet & Greet to see if anyone is in the chat room and arranging a game. We gathered at the PGLS Steam room (which is an alternative to M&G) and I opened voicechat for more advice.

Then it's start a game in PG multi and you're away. Back to PGLS to record the results which is straight-forward. (A good game for the three of us at Pro level stretching to 18 holes because we were enjoying ourselves. The level and conditions can be agreed on before the round.)

Much more successful than trying to get a pick-up match in the PG lobby. If there's someone in M&G or the Steam room then you are pretty much assured of a game. And eventually I will have regular games with regular(?) guys. As the numbers build back up and new players join this will be the place to be for a game against real people.

Even though I'm from Australia I shouldn't have trouble getting a game but it would be good if more aussies and NZers joined up.

Very well put together old buddy Mike.

Thanks for taking the time to explain PGLS to all of us as we have already found it is very easy to navigate and to set up or join a turny or game. The 9 hole rounds are a great idea and as you can see the members list is growing. ⛳️⛳️⛳️

PGLS happily announces that the PGA18 format (4 rounds of 18 holes) will now be active and available for all members to play. Events begin each week at 00:00 Friday and run through to 23:59 on Wednesday.

Week by week the level of play in this longer format tournament event will change, giving players of Amateur and Pro the chance to play it, whilst the sister PGA9 event will carry the level of play not used in the full-18 event.

To make the event playable, you will need to include it in your PGLS PARTICIPATION profile - http://pgls.golfladd...s/ucp.php?i=207 - selecting the event under Tourney Participation.

The event, and all PGLS events, now have a new way of showing in-game, with only your current round visible. The round showed will count up from 1/4, thru 2/4, 3/4 and finally 4/4. You can still play out of sequence, but to do so must be invited by a player who has their round active, you will then still have the next available round available to you the next time you play, either solo or in a multiplayer game.

If time is an issue and you can only fit in 9 holes of play at a time, you can exit the tour events at whatever stage you are at and you will resume from the same point.

Hope you enjoy success at whatever level of competition you choose.

Hi to all,

The first day of the month this August, and the same going forward, introduces the PGLS Open - our 72-hole competition with a half-way cut. The event runs from the 1st of each month until the 28th, with the cut being made after 14 days.

Players who are currently not seeing the event on offer in Perfect Golf's in-game tournaments should visit the PGLS website and choose PGLS PARTICIPATION where they will find the selector for PGLS Open. Select YES and submit and you will then see the event.

We are happy to report some positive action on play within our Guilds Open, the chance for teams to contest in matchplay and strokeplay events. Greatly aided by the support of the Links Zombies who are stepping up with 5 (yes....five!) separate teams to challenge between themselves and take on all-comers, the competition in its rebooted form should heat up quickly!

Guild matches can be played at any time - you just need to arrange the challenges. We are also, however, making our Thursday (the short downtime we have in the weekly PGA9 event) as a semi-official day when Guild play will be positively encouraged. Drop in to Meet and Greet on that day and hopefully the challenges will be flying thick and fast!

Enjoy your golfing, and thanks as always for your continued support of PGLS.

Mike
