I finally got my hands on Course Forge Beta  and...WOW!! its pretty cool once you get the hang of it.

Which didn't take long really.

I am still getting to grips with the little things but the basics you can pick it up real quick.

So here are some pics of what I have been messing about with.

Pic 1 is the 1st tee area...This was just to see about how to import structures etc

Pic 2 is the Par 3 I made in Unity in the "While I'm Waiting Thread"

Pic 3 is a par 4 but I was mainly finagling(K11?) about with bunkers trying different things

Cheers RobC

Where do you find the Course Forge beta?

I think that we will have to wait until the general release of Perfect Golf before we see Course Forge, as it is only available at the moment if you are selected for testing

Very nice, Rob.

Guess I'll never live down the "finagling" incident in the other thread. But I'm afraid your usage of it is questionable.

finagle

fɪˈneɪɡ(ə)l/
verb
USinformal

  1. obtain by dishonest or devious means.
"Ted attended all the football games he could finagle tickets for"
    • act in a dishonest or devious manner.
"they wrangled and finagled over the fine points"

I am so looking forward to having CF someday. I am finding using just Unity without it to be very restricting.

I know.... Unity's fine now that I sort of get it, but I'm itching to actually have some precision tools available specifically for golf. Plus I'm really looking forward to being able to import terrain.

As a Links designer, I'm reluctant to do real courses because there's so much more time you need to invest, especially when dealing with elevation. I think CFs tools will encourage me to try more real courses. Not that I don't enjoy doing fictional ones; I prefer it actually, but it seems that real courses are what the players want.

Are these textures native to CF or did you find / make them?
