a lot said here--my question is--to whomever it may concern--are the breaks on greens more extreme then before--seem to be to me--wat was 6in break in old is now 15in break now ?????

Nah, its just that you have to take care of ALL breaks. In U4 the ball was too fast on the 1st 3 to 5 ft and you could just forget the breaks in your front. Now the ball has less speed and the breaks right in front take effect.

Who cares...

There was an issue with the code in U4 that was softening the breaks so they were less than what they should have been. Once the U5 port was done, the U4 issue was removed and breaks now occur as PP intended.

This was also why the ball wouldn't pick up pace when rolling down slopes in U4. Now in U5 it does.

I'm good with the putting. Not seeing anything that would cause concern.

Same here.. in fact, I think I am putting better than ever now that PG got rid of the little flag.   Not saying that was the extent of my putting woes, but just the overall concept of strength and accuracy.

When I first encountered the new putting, during testing, my reaction was 'what the hell is this crap'. It didn't take very long at all for me to adjust to both the uphill, downhill and break requirements. Even the 6' to 15' putts requiring 3 quick clicks are a problem for me. I have no special mouse, just a generic Logitech. Of course, my clicking is partially due to my 'hyper, twitching' personality. :D

oops - yes just had one, sorry big egg on face for deena here - the ball 'jumps' to the side more than breaks, and indeed it is instantly off the putter face by about half a putter length - but interestingly on the replay there is no such thing!! It's almost like a glitch rather than anything to do with any break and as the team states - it's probably a camera thing, but hands up, I've had one and a little egg to wipe off  :D in my defense I do not think it is the ground physics at all because it's as though it never happened on the replay and nobody really described it as a jump/ glitch more as something to do with the break - which it isn't.....

If anyone wants to practice putting (while we await a fully functional range), can I suggest going to Hole 10 @ Illionois GC.

The back portion of the green is flat and allows around 50 ft of flat green to fine tune your stroke.

;)

I can see the hole on the map in my mind - kinda takes the journey down after a 9 hole right then left, love maps game wouldn';t be anything like as good without ordinance - IMO of course  :D

getting used to this!!
