I'll say this, I agree that we're not being as communicative as we need to be. We actually tried to bring on a community/social manager, but our first candidate didn't end up working out. I can say that most the team feels bad about that fact.

It's "only 20 minutes" is true to an extent, but all of us are busting our behinds trying to make a great product. When you're pouring every ounce of effort into something like this, that 20+ minutes is coming out of our free time, recreation, time with our families, etc, Because every other moment is going into the product.

Since I started, I've seen an amazing amount of progress. Especially in the last week, where a lot of parts have come together into an actual game that we're refining quickly.

It's not my place to say what our time table is, but it's definitely moving forward at an appropriate pace.

Well said sir..

Whilst we want regular updates, there are lines I'd definitely agree with you upon to ensure are avoided. Time spent on the job vs time spent recreationally. Balancing this in a competitive world where you want customers, and creating a demand for something is far harder than most things we will understand. However, you're also in a world where you should have the tools to do the job, if not, well.. I won't go on..

Whoever this first candidate was... I'd rather we avoided that. It matters not to those here but the fact the position was thought to be needed, added to the many requests on this forum - makes me feel a trick or two was missed. There are alot here, that would pull for the guys at PP. It's quite evident in the forum posts and those that express themselves perhaps negatively, are doing so because they are frustrated you've created something they want but can't have.. it's a double compliment really, expressed badly.

I appreciate your coming forward with your honesty and post though, whilst it doesn't actually inform us of anything more lol.. except those who scrutinise the wording of appropriate pace, and infer that it means deadlines are being met... lol, I love words.. they always have more letters than you think inside them.. forgive me.. I am actually quite relaxed and hopeful that in making this post, we've been heard. Personally, I also heard you too.

Well, he did post in the "by the end of 2013" thread...and he didn't post that they were off schedule.

Who are you?!!?!

VFE is part of the team who has been tasked with looking at the Mac and Linux side of development.

I'm sure he may very well ask who you are, lol.

:D

On the subject of when we will see PG, I have been one who has banged the drum about having PP give us regular updates as to what is going on and where the project is (still wouldn't hurt for snippet updates) but I'm not bothered about them being pushed to give us dates and tomes for things being released, as more often than not, these projected dates slip and then everyone whinge's when it doesn't arrive on the pre-specified date. We keep being told things are moving forward behind the scenes, so let us just hope they can show us something in the coming weeks/months.

Using Assetto Corsa (the racing sim being developed by Kunos Simulazione) as an example, which was touted at arriving in Q1 2013. They too are a small company, working with a handful of developers to bring us what has the potential of being the top driving/racing sim on PC. Folks kept bleating because we had seen nothing but development pics and the Q1 2013 release slid by. Then folks even doubted we would ever see the sim. More pics kept being released then we got a Tech Demo. Then more pics and more pics. Bugs were being ironed out, issues were encountered and needed to be addressed before the public could get some hands on time with the sim.

Finally just before the weekend (8th Nov), the early access v0.1 BETA has hit Steam and there are now hordes of happy sim racers as they get an early taste of the sim, whilst receiving regular updates as the builds progress. We didn't get the full version, but a handful of cars and tracks to keep us busy. OK, it's 6/7 months later than was touted back in 2012, but so what.

I would hope to see something similar from PP as we go. Once we have a playable BETA of the game and Course Forge, let the community have some hands on time and help the project develop. If this meansit is Feb/Mar next then so be it. There are plenty of other things to be doing while we wait. Life doesn't grind to a halt just because we don't yet have Perfect Golf.

I appreciate some need Perfect Golf to fill the void left by not having an alternative PC golf game to play. C'mon people, surely golf on your PC is not the be all and end all of your existence. Get out and breath some fresh air, lol.

Like Assetto Corsa, Perfect Golf will come when it's ready.

;)

i say this stuff;

we should not push the PP team but we should leave them quiet to develop this Perfect Golf game, i am sure they are working hard to get it out as the best golf game product never seen before.
we should suggest them some tips about the real golf & golf games like this they could focus on it achieving a great goal & cutting out the glitches.

Curious to think we're likely to see something just ahead or on, the real PGA start..

Maybe the Hawaii Courses, Tournament of Champions or Sony Open..?

No, it's fine here - just take your time PP, don't release junk, iron out every crease before you even release a demo, then when you release the demo take another 6 months with the final product as I am sure the demo will be more than enough to keep us all going for a while - just make it free and easy going on the processor and graphics............

*subtext - I desperately need a new PC but I'm utterly cash strapped, plz send donations to me in Thailand......lols!!*

I just want to play some golf. Trying to be patient and I check back here every day hoping for news.

It does look amazing so I think it will be worth the wait if it is not just a money sucking machine and has something like an annual fee or a better pat system then what is out there now.

I come back to the forum on a regular basis, but lately previews are scarce (if any). I read somewhere (I might be wrong) that it was to be released on Winter 2013,...BUT, has the project been moved forward? I would understand that completely, it's typical these days after all, but a little more information would be good too.

I'm pumped about Perfect Golf. I have not played anything since EA decided to discontinue Tiger Woods Online. I keep telling myself patience is a virtue.
