I've never had the issue of the ball going backwards while putting, but I have had it go backwards teeing off a few times. I believe it happens when I make an improper swing execution with a hesitation during the forward swing.

As far as I am aware I am the only person capable of playing this way. I was using my 360 copy, the one that is very good for hitting on plane shots.

I found that I could replicate the shot when I push the thumb stick fully forward and with speed, something I can not do with my 360 official controller.

I can therefore only conclude that it is the fault of the individual controller.

When I putt now, I have to be very soft and subtle with the stick, not ideal but just about playable.
