Shew! $65 for water huh? Well, I guess if I was making a game for sale.

Indeed...expensive. I justified the cost as I have derived countless hours of enjoyment playing within Unity. Finding assets that do what they say, provide quality and support has been another journey.

Terrain creation - using GAIA

I have been playing with GAIA for a few months now. Barely scratching the surface thus far. For those looking to create fictitious courses I would recommend this program.

I am certainly no expert at course design, texture creation, almost anything in Photoshop (total newby).

With GAIA you can create terrains using stamps (in fact multiple stamps can be used on the same terrain). You can 'spawn' textures, details, and objects. I change the default textures within the GAIA resources as well as the details and trees.

The following images will be the basis of my next project. Typically I will study the terrain, and find the hole layout I think might be interesting to play (won't really know playability until CF is released).

I will then begin sculpting out the terrain to create tee boxes, fairways and green complexes.

Not concerned at this point about the amount of detail, or lack thereof  - I will probably change a lot out. I only used 4 grasses, and two flowers; and two tree types...hence the very repetitive nature.

Now the real work begins. Oh, and once done - GAIA can be complely removed. 49gYRS4.jpg

Those look amazing SReesor, the skies and water look very nice too.

This water plugin looks pretty good for about half the price of Suimono. Not sure if it's a resource hog though.

Those scenes look great! I came across GAIA doing research and it piqued my interest. Now it piqued even more. I'm assuming creating terrain in GAIA will be compatible (if that's the right term) with CF?

I kind of want Gaia and Aquos real bad, but I'm going to wait to see what version CF runs on first.

Still working in Unity...so much to learn.

Still working on textures in Photoshop, and most recently just playing with Tendoku - here with fog. Trying to get that early morning ground fog effect we have all experienced IRL.XJgR1Rn.jpg

Still trying to get the feel of a course design reflecting a more rugged feel of natural terrain and grasses/ground cover. ~1.9M tri'sDibeQ79.jpg

Wasn't happy with the previous fog, this is with Volumetric Fog...I think it is a better asset. Y7rv9AE.jpg
