There's nothing wrong with that.

The gaming world is full of those that are completely impatient... and not always too bright, either.

So, whether it be; navigating the interface, the settings, or figuring out how to hit it, and how far to hit it... a portion of players are bound to give up, under the current system.

But, while there's nothing wrong with some of us choosing to be more adaptable; the developers have to decide if that's enough for everyone.

How many licks to the center of a pop? Some players just want to bite right in to it; and so they lash out when they discover that all they've managed to do here, is gnash their own teeth.

Human nature is to have a natural negative bias when it comes to memory.

Do you remember all of the details surrounding the best steak you've ever had?

How about a bad restaurant experience? You could probably describe the decor, down to the paintings, in a place that you'll never go back to.

You would certainly recall all of the details of everything that went awry.

Look at how detailed people can get when describing bad experiences:

Only people with a "glass half or completely empty" outlook are as negative and cynical as you describe. Yes, I remember poor experiences, but I remember great experiences with far more detail and I am pretty sure I am less the exception and more the norm.....

There is going to be a qualitative difference between those willing to endure EA for a potentially great game and the casual consumer. This doesn't mean they (we) don't need them.

When I bought my first Links 386, I thought it was a great golf game. It had limitations, the more I played, the more things I found to be incorrect or not as I thought they should or could be. Even so, I bought every update as it came out. I had no means of giving the creators my opinion, but the basic game was good enough for me to shell out every time it was updated. I also, like many others, bought all the add-on courses. I played and enjoyed Links2K3 right up until the first EA release of PG. I loved Elite PowerStroke, even with it's limitations but I have removed it and the 600+ courses. I pledged money for PG at Kickstarter because I thought PG was going to be THE golf sim. Yes, JNPG does have things I personally don't think are correct, hitting a wood "Hard" should not make it go less far and a number of other issues but, my expectations of PG was well founded as I thoroughly enjoy the golfing experience JNPG provides. The greatest thing in it's favour is that it IS and will continue to be, getting better. PP are a small company, their biggest downfall is PR. They have a fabulous range of game testers here in this forum, people who bother (because we think it's worth it) to explain any bugs we find and suggest any things we think will improve it. They should try to utilise our input. JNPG will be THE golf sim, but we must be a little more patient, after all, we do have a very playable game now, which is dirt cheap at $35.00 and most of us paid $20. The PG courses are built to a very high standard and so are the majority of user designed ones, and they are FREE. Come on guys, carry on making helpful comments, carry on bug reporting, but lets give the guys at PP our support as often as possible, but keep those good ideas coming!

I am glad you are enjoying it all Ian. I am still disappointed there is no real powerstroke equivalent and I am playing RTS-C instead, but do not enjoy it anywhere near as much or play as well as I do champ powerstroke in Links.

Links will stay installed on my PC for the foreseeable future as I prefer it in many ways and there are a larger variety of courses to play ( more non-US for certain  ;)  ). I also help run a tour at LSPN so that keeps me quite occupied.

SS,

Looks like it's Links till you die then, lol, as I see no PS equivalent in TGC, Rory or Winning Putt either.

We've always been the lepers of the cyber golfing community, or that's how it feels at times  :P  I'm certainly not buying an expensive control pad just so I can hit a little straighter   ;)

They really do need to think about more non-US/ British courses though  and I would build them if Unity was easier to use  and real life didn't get in the way so much  :(

The update was posted on social.perfectparallel.  It looks like that's where the official news is being posted, rather than on this forum

Well we are in the process of Building Royal Troon.  Waiting on a conversation with the GM for permissions / licensing.

On www.nicklaus.com they refer to CF as Nicklaus Design Course Forge. Will this be how it is named when released alongside PG?

Also, how is it coping with Royal Troon's pot bunkers?
