This will be a smorgasbord of swing types and covers them all and more important a lot of fun. Just pray for me on the RTS-M day as my poor caddie might be out there a long time. Lol

Good luck....!
However, unclear what you are aiming to prove.... except by having alot of fun!
You may want to list conditions too, as you're not really playing in comparison to anything except the actual Course.

Nice idea. But the numbers won't say that much. You certainly have spent way more time with certain swing types, right? So bad scores on the other swing types are expected.
If i would go out and play a round with 3-click (a swing method i maybe have played 10 hours overall) i certainly would struggle. I played MS for about 300 hours and yesterday, after two months of RTS-M, when i tried MS out i was all over the place.
Testing different controllers might be a good idea.

the results might be interesting for your case , but wont really say anything at all.
someday i am on form , other days not.
its all about statistics and a few times playing something wont work.
still, its interesting to do for yourself, because what suits you best, gives you a better mindset and as a
consequence, better results.

Ian not trying to prove anything really just have some fun with it as I don't care who I am playing with or what swing they use as its just a game and not life and death. I really want to test the three controllers and see for myself if there is a big difference and the MS and 3C is just for fun and since we have to play the course 8 times if you are playing both PGA and RTS it seemed like a good time to experiment. The truth is I really wish I could play RTS-M all the time but my shoulder wont allow it right now but once in a while playing with the mouse is not that bad. I will list all conditions and stats just to keep it interesting.

Well very interesting and here is what I got in round 1 at PGA OGT playing 3C with stimp of 12 calm normal and easy pins.
Score 73
Drive 284
Greens 11/18
Fairways 7/14
Putts 1.82
Played with the new Caliber ball and that is a game changer for me as your miss was not as exaggerated as before with old ball the problem is you have to get used to the distance of the ball. I lost about 4 strokes to a blank internet which I lost my screen on hole 4 and 17 and that killed the round or I would have been around 69. All in all it was kind of cool again to play 3C but after I was done I went out and played 4 holes with RTS-M and at Pro level and was stripping the Caliber down the middle and am now rethinking the possibilities of RTS-M if I can get my shoulder better but make no mistake the Caliber ball is straighter than the stock ball and you do lose distance but hey that is just like real golf in a way. Very round and great how many options gives you and looking forward to seeing how the MS side plays next.

Well here are the first two rounds of the RTS OGT Pro event.
Rd. 1 Stimp 12 Med pins Normal Gusty using Speed Link Controller using Advent Ball
Score 68
Drive 300
Greens 16/18
Fairways 13/14
Putts 1.75
Rd. 2 Stimp 13 Difficult Pins Normal Calm Using Gamestop Xbox 360 with Caliber Ball
Score 74
Drive 279
Greens 9/18
Fairways 11/14
Putts 1.89
Well the Speedlink was longer using the Advent ball and was more straight than the Xbox 360 there was no doubt there but not by miles as some claim. I will say my Xbox 360 unit is beat to death and would like to try an XboxOne and PS4 and might go buy them for the heck of it as you can never have to many controllers. The biggest problem I have with either unit is putting and I do believe a better Xbox or PS controller or newer might do pretty well also but again the Speed link is straighter but not enough to disqualify it. Next will be the Logitech F310 for round 3.

sounds like fun, but be aware that conclusions drawn from that data might be not right.
one round i am hitting straighter than another round.
only many rounds can give valid stats.

I have to tell you after trying this and fooling around with MS again I think I might be doing a double switch. I played MS all the time and quit and went to the controller due to a shoulder Arthritis but they do make Aleave and I really do miss playing with the mouse. My current plan is to play MS for the OGT PGA Tour and controller on RTS till next signup period and go back to RTS-M at Am level for the RTS tour. Pro at RTS-M is brutal for me right now but with some training I could be alright. Every swing has its ups and downs and to this day I still think the most balanced swing is the original MS swing but that is just my opinion. To much to think about switching every round to do this but it does give some good info but man I will need cold one out of the fridge when done. lol

What is a Gamestop xbox360 controller? Is this another third party controller, because if it is I'm not sure what you're trying to prove with your xbox controller comparisons.
Also, why test these with different balls? That invalidates any comparison of straightness, as one ball is known to be straighter than the other.

The Gamestop Xbox 360 controller is what a lot on here have as threads like this have been going on for a while and it looks just like the Xbox one and its the only one I have. As for different balls they are in the bag so why not use them and how do I know that some on here who claim that they are not holding the club back are in fact using that ball so I figured I would try it and see. For the record if the straighter ball is available do you really think people wont use it as they have those type of balls in real life golf for instance the Bridgestone E6 is known to fly straighter than lets say the Titleist NXT Tour. Don't you look for an edge in real golf and if you don't then you are in the minority as golfers are always looking for a Driver or ball that will go straighter. Its just a test Sir not an indictment and for the record I do believe the Speed Link to be able to hit the ball a little straighter than the Xbox 360 but then again my Taylormade R11 worked better than my old Calloway so I spent the 400 bucks and bought it when it came out so why not a controller. Just doing some experimenting.

Round 2 at PGA Tour Pro event. Using the MS swing
Stimp of 13 Med Pins and Normal with Gusty Winds.
Score 71
Drive 284
Greens 15/18
Fairways 11/14
Putts 1.93
Doubled the first hole with a 4 putt. Lol. Had not played much MS lately due to shoulder but man it was fun and once again to me its the best swing as it is the best balance of swings also but that's just me. Hit the ball well just didn't putt but never do as the video game mares my IRL golf but lots of fun and will play the last two rounds of the Event at MS also.

I have a GameStop controller and it's horrible. It has almost no Y axis.
Yea they are not the best. I am going to buy an Xbox One controller this weekend and give it a whorl.

Have you tried playing with a stock PS4 controller? That's the one that I use for both PG and TGC and it works great in both games. ![]()

No I have not but I have heard good things about it and you never know the visit to the local Bestbuy might bring home two new toys. I don't have a PS4 yet and will probably pick one up towards the end of the year so an extra controller is always needed. I am still watching my Xbox 360 gather dust. Lol.

Logitech. F3 controller. Advent Ball
Score. 60
Drive. 305
Greens. 15/18
Fairways. 12/14
Putts. 1.33
Yes this was benign conditions but way to easy as the Logiteck like the Speedlink has yeilded much better scores and I have to admit the controller needs a tweak. If it were me as Frank had mentioned I would add timing and tempo to the swing and that would make it more difficult to hit the ball straight. As it is now I can hold the club all the way back and come thru when I want and still hit the ball. You can't ban controllers but you can toughen it up in the future. At this point I will play round 4 with RTS-M and I might shoot 90 but all in the name of experimentation and after that I will play MS in all events other than RTS where I will go RTS-M and probably move down to Am level next signing period. I like the controller and someday when better I will come back but better to PO some Aleave and swing the mouse for now.

Is it easy to set up? Because I understand it's not plug and play on PC's.

Now I have a PS4 I might try the Controller out, instead of my sh*tbox 360.

All you should have to do is connect it using a USB cable, the game supports the native Dinput protocol.
