For this course, I used Mike's Course1 scene.  Here are the terrain settings:

Thanks Gary

Thanks for the video posts Gary. So many great bits in each of those. I feel that building a course is much like a work of art. Unfortunately, the canvas is 4km^2 which can be overwhelming so it's nice to see how you tackle each of the steps.

Thanks, much appreciated.  It's nice to know that someone is getting something out of them. :)

I was busy today, but hope to get another one up tomorrow...

Gary, regards changing the Hue etc. of the textures, is it just a case of overwriting the originals.

When I say hue, what I'm actually referring to is this 'Main Colour' in the layers library.  I recommend that you do a 'Save As' and create a new library first though.

It's just a process of amend > build splines > amend etc until you get it how you want.

New video up...  This one deals (possibly badly) with importing and setting up an animated model

Very cool Gary - PG does support the bird flock system which is available via the Unity asset store with the proviso that the scripts are placed inside the scripts folder of the standard assets folder. That's what we use for our birds in PG which is why they tend to do different things all the time and not fly on a constant path because they are actually using an AI script which gives them options about where they can fly.

It's been a while but here's a new video...  This one is about my approach to designing a short par four:

If any of you can think of a topic that you'd like me to discuss, I'd be happy to look into it...

Cheers,

Gary

Gary

great video again- it's really interesting to hear the inner workings of a designers head! The course is looking very good and realistic which is the most important thing I think!

You have given me a number of things to consider when I will attempt to use CF in the coming days, weeks and months- subject to work which is bordering on the ridiculous currently

Keep up the good work and looking forward to the next video as well as the course

New video: Skybox, Fog and Ocean Water settings:

This is a very stupid question, but how can you get your ocean waves (and all the other stuff like trees, grasses, ponds etc.) to move in Unity? It's quite hard to adjust those ocean settings if the ocean is still:). Thanks for the tutorials anyway! Very good info!

----

PS. Found the "animated material" button so ocean is now alive, but what about trees and grasses?
