The game is on Steam. That's pretty public for a PC game!

A career mode is a must imo, its safe to say that 99% of us here are not just casual players, we create, test, play on tour etc. If and when this hits console then potential buyers are going to be looking for some kind of single player progression type career, and to hit console without it would be a huge mistake.

I totally agree with DoGgz... career mode is a must for a chance at success on the consoles. It would give JNPG a leg up on TGC to have a viable career mode at this point. Yes, TGC currently has what's called a career mode, but most will admit it lacks any real substance. TGC 2 will no doubt have a more full featured, deeper career mode, so if PP can beat HBS to the punch and get JNPG at least on the XBox One market before TGC 2, with as dynamic a career mode as I suspect they've got in mind, it will be a huge plus for them.
Beyond career mode though, Pappy has named some other elements the console version has to have to succeed. We not only need female and lefty golfer animations, we need animations that are both more fluidly animated and presented in higher detail. It's going to take DirectX 11, at a minimum, to pull this off to the degree needed on an XBox One, IMO. I think it would also help if there was some degree of customization of the golfers physical appearance in JNPG... just something to allow each player an opportunity to put a little personal touch into their avatar.
Technically, JNPG has gone public over one and a half years ago with the Steam Early Access release. I would see the Windows 10/XBox One release on Microsoft Live and XBox Live as a new, public release... and really, so would most of that market. In my eyes, the Windows 10 version of JNPG would be a "new" game. I imagine I could find some who would disagree with me on that though

I would imagine this Win 10 featured major paid update will contain all the bells and whistles. 3D grass, career, mocap, and store items. Then hopefully focus will go to consoles and VR.

We definitely need a career mode. I have been wanting one for a long time. I hope windows live servers have improved. They were horrid when I used to play F1 2011.

Been away a couple of days. Seriously, is JNPG going off Steam and on to GFWL or whatever it is now? Bugger...

...but tgc2 is going to have selectable difficulties (one of which is supposed to be very challenging sort of like the hardest drive setting cone they currently have). Without the uplifting trick. they are going to have motion captured completely customizable golfers, societies / country clubs with upgradable clubhouses, ghost rounds and a completely included at no extra cost course creator. And all of this by April '17.
How is jnpg going to get a competitive game to console by that date?
They really don't need to worry about TGC2.
These games are targeting completely different types of golfers and gamers really.
And also, before anyone gets too excited about the "all new super challenging swing, finally, yay!" in TGC2...
Let's actually see it and have someone get some hands on it..
It's all vaporware on Anthony's server and a bunch of smoke on the forum at the moment.

There are a lot of complainers over there who love the ease of the swing right now.
To be fair, it only feels like about 4-5 rotten eggs in the pack.
If they'd moderate more seriously (and fairly) and remove the bad eggs, the ghost town of negativity that has become their forum might recover at some point.
Losing Lorin as a moderator (long ago now) was a really big blow it has turned out.
I certainly disagreed with him on many things, but he was an absolute hammer as a moderator and the place was better for it.

TBH, it is not Keith's fault. He is doing what he can, but he is being told to let certain users post whatever they wish with no consequences. No wonder that forum has become a ghost town recently.
Anyhoo...lets try to get back on topic and leave that "other" forum out of our discussions.

I suspect the Steam version will continue to be usable. But most will probably move to the Windows 10 DX11 3D grass version. which could make it difficulty to find a game in the current lobby....

Little known fact when King Arthur was trying to make a golf course and he ran into some conflict. King Arthur: There's a peace only to be found on the other side of war. If that war should come I will fight it! Other important fact. Read the Book of John in the Holy Bible.

Maybe so. If I'm understanding that correctly it's not the same thing as "cross-platform" multiplayer gaming.

It's not completely clear to me either. I guess I can see how an XBox One player could play against someone on a Windows 10 PC, whose PC was in essence either emulating or streaming an XBox One? I'd hate to see a powerful Windows 10 PC be capped by the capabilities of the XBox One... at least the current XBox One. I'm just guessing right now though; I'll sit back and wait on the facts to come in.
