If you mean upgrade to W10, that I'll do for this game. If you mean move to a console, that ain't going to happen!!

You'll be good to go with Windows 10 when the new version comes out.  However, you'll also have to have a DirectX 11 capable GPU to support it.   I'm pretty sure you would have that though, as it's been pretty much the standard for at least the last three years.

I have a Nvidia 970. I'm sure that will handle DX12 with W10.

I think he meant long way to go for Scorpio. It's not due for release until Q4 2017.

3D grass on the other hand is hopefully coming Q1. So if you're waiting for Scorpio, that is your choice.

Yeah, Scorpio is Q4, 2017 for sure.  I think your R9 will allow you to bide your time until then, since it's DirectX 11 compatible.  There's nothing that says NVIDIAS's Turf Effects can't run on Radeon GPU's that I can find.

Turf Effects are supposed to run on any DX11 and up GPU....

Excellent. I'm just going to have to keep up with whatever I need to play this game on high settings. I thought when I bought the gaming laptop that it would be more than powerful enough to run a golf game. I wasn't going to play anything crazy graphic like battlefield or call of duty. Just perfect golf and ootp baseball mostly. Maybe some civ. but this golf gameplay overwhelmed me with its challenge and the teams dedication to realism that I'm going to have to keep up. I'm already mad I can't run it on ultra..ha. it does need some more customization and that career mode and it would be nice if it were on ps4. Real nice

I suppose I am just the opposite... after 10+ builds and countless hardware upgrades with the mindset that I needed to "keep up" with the latest and greatest, I've decided that the days of upgrading for one particular game is over.   With the introduction of the XBOX 1 into the family, the ability to use kb/m and the renewed interest of the Battlefield series (BF1), I really see no need to upgrade or outright buy a new PC for that matter.   I have always been a big BF fan and after a long layoff, BF1 has brought me back into the fold.   Truth be told and due to real life events, I only get a few hours a week of game time anyway, so I basically have to pick and choose what to play.   My current machine is good enough for what I use it for.

While I applaud the efforts of the devs for what they have accomplished so far, enjoy reading the forums and following the progress, PG is just not at the top of the list for me.  At this point, I enjoy PG for what I use it for... play an occasional and casual round.  Mainly, to check out the course designs by the community.  I can see many have gotten a good hold of CF and it can only get better!   However, even that has come with some challenges due to processor and graphics lag, meter stutter and other items that I may have discussed in these forums.   As soon as that happens, I either move on to the next course or simply close the game.

Who knows?  Maybe the next iteration of PG will be so good that it will really bring back that spark and entice me to go out to spend on a new build.. until then, I will keep what I have and make due.

I upgrade when necessary/and am able. I don't like to waste money, but playing a favorite game on lower settings is not fun. That's one reason why I stay away from laptops, most have virtually no ability to upgrade graphics.

I try to buy mid range desktops on sale and replace them every ~4 years, graphic cards ~2 years.

Still playing on a Vista machine with FPS at 15-20 (depend on course). So it is possible on a Vista (going on about 8 years old now - EVERYTHING set at min). Maybe someday ...

Do you have a desktop?

If so, I have a like new GTX 660 and GTX 460 laying around. Either should be considerably more powerful than your GT 440. If you have room in your case (GTX 460 = 8 in. long, GTX 960 = 9.5 in. long) and a sufficient power supply (450w+ PSU recommended), pick one and it's yours.

Consider it a late Christmas present! Shoot me a PM ...
