UPDATE

Andy (who runs LinksCorner) has received a brief update from Jerry's son on the latest situation.

My father is still in a coma and unresponsive. His body is healthy and strong but he will not wake from the coma. We continue to pray for a miracle.

My family wishes to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure we are all keeping Jerry in our thoughts and praying for the same miracle.

Thanks Daz, I just saw that.

I know Jerry would like to hear the old LINKS

sound;  "Looks like you hit the tree Jim".

Very sad to hear this news. Jerry was always there for anyone that needed help or had questions regarding the Links Simulation. A great guy and a real gentleman. Hoping for the best, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family.

You referring to a "like" Mulligan? If so that wasn't a "rating" but an agreement.

Pappy,

No, he means the gold stars rating for the thread, giving it 1 out of 5. Two people felt the need to actually vote on the thread topic.

Hi All

I haven't posted in this thread before , but I have in the one at Linkscorner.

Jerry and I , and some other friends, regulary played Links via Gameranger and Skype ...

He is/was a great friend ... Same age as my mother, but internet/computer golf tear down both age bounderies / and geographical distances .

I just received the sad news from Jerry´s son that Jerry passed away yesterday ...

Jerry , rest in peace my friend / Love 4-ever ... Ola

I quote the e-mail from Jerry's son , because I think it its for every one who knew him in the community:

"Hello Ola,

I am sad to inform you Jerry passed away yesterday. My family and I want to thank you for the friendship you gave to him; We know it brought him much joy.
Sincerely, John Garlisch"

Always sad to hear the passing of someone from the community. It shows how the game of golf can bring together people you have known for more than 10 years, even though you have never met.  Peace be with you Jerry.

Jerry was a great fellow and my pleasure to know over the last 15 years or so.

I met Jerry IRL when he came down to the PGA show in Orlando a few years ago. We invited him to our and hotel suite where we  had been demoing an alpha version of PG which he played for a little while and I could see he was like a kid in a candy store! His enthusiasm for computer golf was obvious from his time and Links Corner and here at the PG forums. He left that day with a copy of the game on a flash drive and therefore became the first member of the public to own a copy of PerfectGolf.

RIP my friend you will be missed.
