Dave,

The one thing that will stay common between a recorded round and the one playing aginst it is the ball type.

I use a Caliber ball.  Playing against your "77" round, I was forced into the Avant ball distances and snap penalties.  When you play my "72" recorded round, you'll be foced to use my Caliber ball.  Seems the game can only handle one ball type at a time (for now), with the default being the recorded player's ball (or an AI opponent's ball).  Hope this gets fixed soon, PP.

logitech on the mouse's i use, i also have a logitech controller along

with a xbox controller. it just all depends on where im setting in relation to my computer

as i very seldom sit at the desk unless im wanting to type. one corded and 1 wireless set .

not even going to argue the dead zone fariytale i read about on the logitech controller cause it works just the same as the xbox or the mouse

so if thats where you are going just don't it is a waste of time and just total BS someone made up. cause i just don't see it i have used 3 different controllers on this game and all have been the same when it comes to play.

TBH i wasted the money on the xbox controller due to some stuff

i read here on the forums about this alien dead space and i just can't find it

guess it may be kinda like looking for bigfoot you know he is out there but you just can't find him.lol

then again i do play 3 click maybe this dead zone you guys speak of is in the joystick motion of

the controller, sure not in the buttons

First Dave I am not here to start the same BS just trying to ask a question. As for the mouse at 3C no difference if using a Logitech or a high end gaming mouse it's all about hitting 6:00 and you either hit it or you don't. As for TP being about the same as pro at 3C I think it's pretty close and the big difference is the aiming so I do agree with you there. The controller is a different matter all together as I own everyone of them and at TP 75 is a great round for me with the Xbox360 but with my Logitech F310 I have gone as low as 62 in solo rds and it's in the scrap pile with the Speed Link as there is no axis with it. Don't shoot the messenger as it is what it is and just passing I and many others have seen. For the record I play all my Tournament rounds at TP 3C as it IMHO is still all about hitting a mark and it can't be manipulated at all. I fool around with the controller sitting in my chair reclined as itsoon more relaxing but only play with Xbox 360 as its a real challenge.

i notice no difference in score as you are saying between the two.

went to the reviews at amazon and read a bunch and could not find any where

people where claiming this controller worked to easy or anything like that seems the main bitch was dropped connection

but i have not had that and more they likely those are user errors.

Playing 3C with a controller is no different than playing 3C with a mouse.  Any controller can be used for 3C with no difference in results.

However, using a controller to play RTS is a completely different animal than 3C and there are definite differences between how different controllers react to the joysticks' swing.

Thanks Daz.  I'll play your round later.

What ball type did you use for the round?  I'm running a de-bug experiment.

Also... I moved your round to folder: Real Course / Europe / Scandanavia / Forsgarden.

I've got it saving now J. It's best to do nothing until the game throws you back to the Home page.

Anyway, I'm following your Mediums around the world. (Bortimus is too good)

My Mediums are Easybeats people.

Ted,

I'm still working on my experiment - under what combination of variables does the game record and save (combos of your Ball type, opponents Ball type, lock tees and difficuly, and match tees and difficuly).  I'm up to 72 data points (out of 2^4 combos * 6 repeats = 96 cases).

So far...

1) a Solo (1st Gen) recorded round (the initial recording by itself) records and saves 100% of the time.

2) playing against a recorded round works 100% of the time. Recoring and saving this 2nd Gen round only work about 50% of the time ( 32 of 72, so far).

3) the Ball type physics (distance and snap penalty) always (100%) defaults to the 1st Gen recorded player's Ball choice.

As you play my recorded rounds (Caliber ball), have you noticed that you're being force to experience shorter distances?

I've got another 24 combos to finish before I post the results (here).  I'm doing 6 exact repeats of each combo, just to be sure.

John

John,

I had a failure which makes it 1 out of 2. I did a lot of replaying during the round and wondered if that causes problems.

I use the default ball.

I can't get bortimus's records to work.

I guarantee there's an easy fix.

Had a great match against you at St Andrews John. I was 2 in front on the front nine I think but got the wobbles. The record didn't save so I'll look forward to the re-match.

I'll touch nothing and see if it saves. (grumble)

Ted,

When you play against my recordings (Caliber for me, Avant for you) are you seeing a reduction in your expected distances?

John

No. Not really. But I was around your distance off the tee. The distances seemed ok

Would people be more inclined to upload recordings if the rounds were 9 holes?

I know 18 holes can take a while. Front and Back nine recordings for each course might be more attractive.

Things to consider....

*   Players can record solo rounds and upload to MEGA

*   Players can record their round while playing against a recording

*   Players can play against a recording but nominate the time of day. Changing that in Settings changes the weather in the recording.

*   Players can compete against themselves

*   Players can delete their old rounds and update their score

*   Playing this way is an excellent learning tool

*   Never be lonely out there again

*   Your recorded opponent is non-judgemental

*   Players can play at any skill level and swing type

this 9 hole thing is pretty cool no time at all to get through a round

i just posted one of Dazs 9 hole rounds. cool way to get to play with people you may never get a chance to

and see how they go about attacking the course.
