That said it doesn't look like the most penal course you can play.
Its good there are other golf games out there for folks to play, but that video gives me no urge whatsoever to go back to TGC.

No def not the hardest course in TGC, they have courses to test your scoring without really testing your game if you know what i mean, pins on ledges, narrow fairways and tucked pins...the usual mundane fair to protect par, i try to avoid them.

Also, a couple of the camera views showed a reverse side panning view. I love that camera view. What settings do I need to get that camera view?

The only way I've found enjoyment with TGC is to try and moderate your swing for distance control instead of using the dial-a-distance loft grid. It's very difficult because the backswing is far too quick. JNPG does a MUCH better job of allowing you to control your backswing to control distance.
If I do this in TGC then I typically get reasonable scores but for all the wrong reasons. It's far too easy to stripe ever single drive down the middle of the fairway. The only challenge become controlling shot distance on approaches and then putting.
Based on a few things that AK has said they are going to use the backswing to control distance in TGC2 so it should be a much better game as long as the swing difficulty is there.
JNPG still has the bet gameplay in my opinion hands down.

Just curious, did you score -9 in the video you put in this thread?

It was either -9 or -10 Daz mentioned the scoring, why does it not show the normal score anymore? it shows my score adjusted to my handicap only, i never really noticed it until Daz pointed it out, ill go in and check the cam for you, i have no idea what its set at.

The most interesting thing that's happened to me over time is "I like the look of TGC less and less".
The one main thing about the "look" that I hope comes to PG with better baseline DirectX versions is the lighting engine.
It's not great textures or anything in TGC - It's the lighting/shadowing/scattering that's making it look "better/more real looking/dramatic" to a lot of eyes vs PG.
I really hope that aspect of PG can take a big leap forward at some point.

I agree. For the few instances that I awoke from my nap, I kept thinking how "cartoonish" that course looked.

Thats the one thing i hate about TGC graphics, the textures! they just do not look real to me, just a perfect carpet with super neat edges, i have never played a course like it IRL, shame because the trees grasses etc are nice, and the water is good, the big issue with trees in TGC is the fact you cannot resize or rotate. So many people say TGC has the better graphics, but i honestly do not see it, realism is everyhing and their textures lack that aspect.

TGC is like the hot chick next door. Good for a one night stand. PG is the smart chick you marry....

That was the only thing I took from the clip that I hope to see in JNPG - the superior lighting effects. Hopefully like has been said DX11 will open the doors for this (I know DX11 minimum is key for iRacing to introduce day/night light transitions).
One other thing that struck me is how certain TGC players have always criticised JNPG's ball for looking like curling stone sliding on the ice. I'm sorry, compare the JNPG ball to the TGC ball and there is only one game with the curling stone, lol.

Well - that certain individual refused to post a video supporting what he was seeing and he also said there was no logo on the ball.
So I'd put those comments fully in the trolling camp and not think any more of it.

Just a reminder, the unicorn does not exist!
If you've never seen it, enjoy! One of my all time favorite YouTube videos below.
For whatever reason, zmax tripped this switch in my brain.

I have my follow cam to off so that might be the reason I never see that reverse side panning camera view that I saw in your video on a couple shots. I'm hoping the reverse landing camera like in JNPG will be added to TGC2. The developers mentioned that there will be improved cameras in TGC2.
As for your scorecard not showing your total score, you probably have your score display in settings set on Net instead of Total.

Having had a look at the HB forums, this ADX character appears to be remarkably immature for his age. If I had to conjure up an image of him from his posts, Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillies comes to mind tbh.
