Sorry it's been a bit quiet with PG2 development news.

We have recently upgraded to Unity 2017 to take advantage of all the latest graphics tech as well as a lot of the new and streamlined multiplayer functionality which will enable us to have asynchronous play as well as the turn based multiplayer we already have.

We have no new animations to show at the moment but what we can show is the latest lighting, atmospheric scattering and 'Turf Effects' development as well as new CourseForge functionality to help slightly randomise the bunker edges for an even more realistic look. No 'cookie cutter' edge bunkers here  :D

We're progressing steadily onward towards Perfect Golf 2 but as a small team it takes longer than we all would all like I'm sure!

FAR more immersive and atmospheric.....anxious to see video of this.

Anxious to find out what hardware will be needed to run this at 60 fps+.

Thanks for sharing Mike!

Obviously we have a lot more detail and effects here in development for PG2 but on the same hardware (770GTX) I run at more or less the same FPS as PG1 which is around 50fps on a typical scene. On a more modern GPU I'm sure in excess of 60fps would be easily attained.

Thanks Mike. Guessing my 1080Ti will handle PG2 handily....

Love to see you guys support the Xbox One X with 4K and HDR.....

What a tease. Looking good MJ.

I especially like that TE doesn't seem

to tile near as much as a texture.

I'm more concerned about the bland, one-coloured look of 3d grass, and whether the transition between CF textured mesh and normal Unity terrain will look natural.

Very nice!

I read an article today about gamers who use monitors with native 1920 x 1080 resolution. The  GTX770TI, GTX 970 SSC and GTX 1070 SSC or FTW are excellent for that resolution. I have my monitor's resolution set to 1600 x 900 and JNPG set to 1370 x 768.  Just easier on my eyes.

I doubt anyone with an an Intel 4Core CPU or the GTX cards mentioned above will have to upgrade.  However, for new readers in this forum with W7 through W10, 64bit systems with just 8GB should be upgraded to 16GB. IMO

The 1070 rips at 1080p - it's overkill for just 1080p gaming.
It's a very good 4K card as well, depending on the specifics of the game.
If I had to pick, I'd say it's the dream 1440p gaming card.

(Former 1070 owner here)

I actually sold my 1070 as a 6GB 1060 is much more suited to my 1080p gaming and I didn't want to have money on the table for tech I really wasn't using.

What is the difference?

Remember Links? We could all play at the same time (fast play, I believe) and watch the other player's shots fly through the air as little streamers in a box on the top of the screen. I think you could move that box around too.

Same idea here with better graphics.
